Thanks for your thoughts. I appreciate it. Have you been with them for a while?

Malpractice/Liability Insurance
Hey all! What type of insurance are you carrying for your nursing practice. Obviously the facility will cover "some" things, but I'd like to have some extra supplemental insurance. Anyone working with a good company?

Fastest & Easiest RN-BSN program online?
Its frustrating trying to narrow down the choices for future nursing education programs. There are so many to choose from! But, I've heard too many horror stories from nurses that ended up taking and paying for classes they didn't need, finding out they had a pass/fail curriculum that hindered their future schooling, programs with TONS of papers to write, or programs that weren't accredited or wouldn't meet the requirements for their state licensure. I'd love if someone would chime in and share some of their experiences with good schools that were helpful.

Fastest (<9 mo), multiple start dates, under 10-15K, online RN-BSN?
Hey all, Digging up an old thread instead of starting a new one. Life got in the way and I stalled on my continued education. I'm ready to go back and I'm looking at completing my RN-BSN as quickly as possible. Before everyone says, "Quickly isn't a good thought process," I've been an RN for many years. I am just trying to fulfill a requirement, finish the few classes needed, and move on to my MSN as quickly as possible. I'm sure the classes will be interesting and I will learn a lot, I would just simply like to burn through them quickly so I can move on with my educational goals. What schools would you people recommend? Where did you go? Any issues with accreditation or transferring credits to another program? At this point, a military discount would be nice, but cost is at the bottom of my list. 100% online is a must. Going at my own pace would be good, but I'm open to any curriculum, the least amount of online classroom interaction/discussions would be good, and dear god don't recommend a program that requires a ton of papers. Again, I get certain things need to be done, but it doesn't have to be so labor intensive. I am a very good student, I do my own research on things I don't understand, and I work very hard (independently) to learn everything I can about a subject before moving on. I will manage that part on my own. If you're still reading this and have some ideas or experiences you can share, that would just about make my day! Thanks in advance!

FNP Programs
I'm glad I ran across this thread again. I was just about to pull the trigger on Walden University for my BSN/MSN/FNP. Hearing things like this are what terrifies me when thinking about picking a school. I don't want surprises! Especially at the end or when trying to transfer credits.

Fastest & Easiest RN-BSN program online?
Old post, but good info here. Heading back to finish my BSN. Looking for a quick and easy, 100% online program without a lot of hassle. I realize people will say, "quick and easy," are not good words for a nursing program, but I've been an RN for many years. I'm confident in my previous education, skills, and knowledge. I just need to finish this step so I can move forward with my educational goals. I am sure I will gain knowledge and skills during the course of this journey, I just want to complete it as quickly as possible. I'm highly motivated to get this part done fast! I'd prefer to do my work at my pace, I prefer to not have a lot of online classroom discussions/interactions, and of course I'd prefer few papers. I know there are good programs out there that will have something like this, just looking to see what others have done and hear about their experiences. Military discount would be fantastic as well, but at this point, money isn't a deciding factor in my decision.

RN to BSN/MSN
My current program limits the "speed" at which you can advance to the next module. I'd like something more self-paced where I can take classes and progress on to the next when I complete it. I don't want to have to wait until the end of the "session" to enroll in additional classes. I know there are self-paced and accelerated programs out there. Again, I'm very motivated and want to rip through this at my own speed. I don't want to be held up by a calendar.

RN to BSN/MSN
Hey all, I'm currently enrolled in a RN to BSN/MSN program. My ultimate goal is to become an FNP. It's going pretty well and I don't want to mention the name of the school because I'm still enrolled and don't want to stir anything up. But, I know there are other programs out there and I don't want to get flammed for asking, but I'm looking for another program that offers a faster, self-paced track so I can complete it faster than I'm currently progressing. I am a very diligent learner, I make sure I am actually learning and getting the most out of the program, but I really want to move along faster than I am in this current program. I am very motivated and want to move through the modules at my own pace so I can complete the program faster. If anyone has had any experiences with schools or programs that are fully accredited, have reasonable tuition or offer a military veteran discount on tuition, and that would allow me to move along at an accelerated pace, I would love to hear your thoughts. Thank you! Dave

FNP Programs
Hi all, I know this has been beat to death, but I'm struggling to find the "right" FNP program. I'm a current RN in the State of Minnesota with years of diverse experience. I am ready to take the next step toward my FNP. I need a program that works for Minnesota, I need one that is 100% online with few to no on-site college campus visits, I'd like one that offers discounted tuition to Veterans, and I'd like to complete the program in as little time possible. I do much better when I hit it hard and get it done quickly. Long, drawn out programs tend to lose my motivation and interest. Any good advice out there? I'm currently looking into Simmons University, which seems to have everything I need. But, there are SO many of them out there, it's tough to nail down one. Thank you all in advance for any advice you can offer. And, good luck to you all in your studies and careers!

ADN to BSN/MSN/NP/DNP
Hi, I have my ADN and 5 years experience. I'd like to move on and get my BSN, MSN and eventually FNP and/or DNP. I'm looking for a reasonably priced, fully online, and fully accredited program that can get me there as quickly as possible. I've heard about RN to MSN "bridge" programs that take you from an ADN to BSN and on to MSN in a short time by combining courses so you're not duplicating things or taking courses you don't need. From experience, if you don't look at the entire picture, you can get led down the wrong path by college counselors..... You end up taking courses you don't need or bypassing courses you actually need. It would be nice if some of the courses filled more than one degree requirement. Any help or experience people can share would be awesome! Thanks!

How long to get nclex results?
FYI, I'm not sure if it works in other states, but in Minnesota you can find out if you passed 10 minutes after you take your NCLEX. As soon as I finished the test, I left the test center for home. It takes approximately 5-8 minutes to get home from my test center. When I got home, I jumped on the Pearson Vue website and tried to register to take the test again. Keep filling out information. If you've passed the test, there will be a pop up message that clearly states "This candidate has previously passed the exam for this license. An additional test cannot me scheduled at this time." BINGO! No fees, no worries, IMMEDIATE RESULTS! BTW, If you're putting off the test because you're nervous or scared you're not ready, go test right now! It's not as bad as people make it seem. Go in with confidence and you'll do fine. Remember, you've passed some really hard exams over the past few years while in nursing school. You've learned a lot and you will know the answers when asked. GO DO IT! It's an awesome feeling to have finished!
