Background checks for parents
WOW...I often wondered about this very thing whenever my Aunt took on a home case. She has encountered many things and told me about them. One thing always stood out about her stories though. She was alive to tell them. She used her better judgement in cases where the situation was potentially dangerous. Anything can happen anywhere and we allow all types of people in our homes and sometimes we enter homes of people we might not know too well, but the moment something looks strange we have an immediate problem that needs to be addressed. Don't go back. In reference to doing a background check, sounds good but it can't determine the future and it won't tell you if a sexual offender is a regular visitor to the home.

How do I become a good candidate to be a Clinical Instructor?
Most of the clinical instructors I have spoken with said that it's about who you know or get to know. So I think it would be a great idea to go to your potential employer and let them get to know you.

Refusing a Clinical assignment
I think that would be a problem if you just don't feel like dealing with a particular patient because of a certain medical condition. As a student you are there to learn.

Med Dose Calc - Is It Possible Some Just Don't Get "It"?
i think its all about being able to visualize the outcome in math. Go with the flow and try to check answers whenever possible. Some people never realize they need to go back even further to eventually advance for example take remedial math for no degree credit vs. starting with college algebra.

Giving PRN meds- need some clarification
The timeframe only applies to scheduled meds not PRN. That is why its necessary to indicate the time you gave it so that you will know the next time to give it. You did the right thing.
