  1. SMH too! This is my opinion! Put yourself and family at risk!!
  2. I understand we as Nurses are to care for the sick, ill, and injured but that is why there are precautions in place to handle different disease process and situations. We should not have to put ourself at risk because this crisis due to lack of N95 mask and I am not.
  3. In other words, relax and sleep as much as I can now: because there will be no such thing as sleep when school resumes.
  4. Thanks for the advise. I will make sure I have time for myself this summer before school starts in August. I can only imagine the overwhelming assignments and schedules I will start to receive in my school email at the end of July
  5. We will cover genitourinary, renal, oncology, peds, Psych, advanced medsurg I know of
  6. I have been out of school for about 3 weeks now and I am so looking forward to starting my 3rd semester this coming August. I am scared to death because everyone says its the hardest semester but I will keep working hard and stay positive. I have planned my whole summer of practicing my nursing skills, math, and reading ahead to get ready for 3rd semester.
  7. I do not ever want to be a nurse that can not help my coworkers regardless of a persons job title.
  8. I totally understand. This is the reason I went to nursing school because I want other work opportunities. Nursing is hard anyway but I rather advance in my career than working as if theres no end to it on a daily bases as a pct.
  9. I like everyone's post. Never give up and go for what you want.
  10. It is possible but hard. You can do it! I have a 5 year old and a 16 year old. My husband helps a lot as far as house cleaning, grocery shopping, laundry. My 16 year old help also. I work 12 hours every Friday and Saturday and attend nursing school fulltime. I will be starting second semester in January. Its not easy but I am motivated and determined to achieve my goal.
  11. @green girl. I just barely passed my first semester of nursing with a C but I had a hard time at the beginning trying to figure out how to study. I was overlooking key words in the questions on the test which caused me to get answers wrong. Now that I am on winter break, I plan to read helpful information relating to my second semester of nursing before I start in January to give myself an early jump start.
  12. I passed my first semester of nursing. OMG how stressful it was and its only going to get harder. Anyone have any suggestions on material to read up on for second semester nursing Adults and children Level 1?
  13. Good for you! I was told by nursing students not to take microbiology and Anatomy & Physiology at the same time. But if you are not working, you should be fine.
  14. Not sure about micro, speech, and physiology but i was told by other nursing students not to take micro and a&p at the same time.
  15. You can do it if you really want this. You have to put hardwork, motivation, and positivity toward nursing. Like one of the other comments on your post, sometimes you will have to bus your butt in nursing. Nursing can be stressful and challenging once your in the field. You make want to volunteer at a nursing facility to find out what you are getting into because it is just more than just passing meds. I recommend anyone wanting to be a nurse start from the bottom up so you can know what you are getting yourself into.
  16. How long would you have to wait to get into the program at your university? If you follow through with the 1 year accelerated program, i suggest you continue on through with BSN because you would benefit a whole lot than the 1 year program.
  17. I like the post. There is always more than one options.
  18. It will take a year to finish prerequisites. 3 to 4 semesters at the most. It depends on how many classes you take at a time or wether you go in the day or evening.
  19. I understand. I work dayshift and each tech has up to 10 or 11 patients and it can be exhausting because it is to busy on dayshift. That is why i am back in school working on my ASN because my body wont be young forever. Nursing is a lot of hardwork and patients.
  20. That is a work load. Too much for one person to handle but that is the Healthcare field.
