We are just allowed for maximum of 10k in every currency to avoid money laundering, right? Ahm, it's better if you'll exchange your ph money in the bank in ph rather than at the airport.

Starting a nursing career
To add, regulation is also a weak part of our system however, I just want to look at the brighter side of our beloved country as it seems messy full. Toooo much tiring to think about their negative stuffs. As long as one official is corrupt, entire government's name will follow. Hopefully, TS already knew where to start his/her nursing career. Good luck!

What do the the Philippine Nurses Asssociation or the Filipino politicians doing to stop this exploitation of Filipino RNs? Show some real leadership! Action speaks louder than words! In my opinion, he can state this because he can merely compare the 'regulating' capabilities of his nation between our nation as well as he is nursing supervisor/preceptor in a private nursing agency wherein, he knew the proper or effective flow. While, I totally agree also of what Icedchips mentioned however since Pedro's stomach needs food probably most of us will think twice for survival. it's okay to join a volunteer/training program as long as you dont pay and it shouldnt last for a year or so. it should somehow expose you to a real nurse's job in a hospital setting in the Philippines. if you are a volunteer for more than a year and you feel that the hospital have no plans to absorb you, well thats not good anymore especially if they are making you do a staff's job. I think exposure to a real nurse's job as a trainee can be a help to improve oneself in the nursing profession. I've been searching for hospitals which can offer training for free and which the experience is worth it. In other country like Singapore, they hire their fresh grad nurses though sometimes they still need to start for lower position but indeed expose them to real nurse's job so as 'exposure with fee' and not volunteer per se. Just my two cents. In fairness to our Phil president he instructed the Dept of Budget and Management to allocate 294million pesos for employment program of our nurses and midwives. Thank you pres.:)

Hi Daly City RN Thank you so much for Telehealth's information.. Very well said. Regarding with the current issues about Filipino Nurses in terms of training and volunteerism are too complicated to speak about here especially involving Filipino politicians and Philippine Nurses Association. Moreso, our country has so MANY MANY MANY problems to deal with, want to know the number 1? CORRUPTION. CORRUPTION. CORRUPTION. I believe, if this main problem already vanished other diseases of this country would be easier to cure so as to nurse's dilemma.

oh sorry patience* is a virtue hehehe. Just a tip for IVT and other trainings, request for your schedule asap or make your name on their list, because when the institution already announced that a certain training is currently open too many nurses are applying for this. Your plan is adoring. Just don't forget to save money and forget those funky businesses. hehe. On the other hand, while you are already working in CC, ask for leave and attend your training, you're hitting two birds here. Actually, I don't have idea about this telehealth nursing until you've mentioned it maybe because I am no longer interested in US due to recession. I am being pessimistic with US matter but for me US now is impossible although nothing is impossible. Your right. Our economy is getting poorer before PH is better than Korea but nowadays their economy is booming. I was disheartened to hear about your friends and colleagues, I remember an American nurse said 'why do their government cannot regulate this huge number of nurses'. Thereafter, one pinoy said 'Regulating is the weakest part of our government'. Sorry for being OT just want to express it. Anyway, goodluck to your career. cheers!

Ops.. Not all trainings are not necessary for us suswot.. It depends on the area.. Generally, IVT training and BLS as i noticed are always requirements for staff nurse position.. ACLS, ECG, dialysis (sometimes) will add to your edge. While, BST and volunteerism will not guarantee you to be hired but then it will boost your confidence. These will let you see the difference between realities and ideals to ph setting. Your choice I think will be depend on your financial status, If still your mother wants to support you for these trainings, why not choknat? Grab it. Be patient in your career. I can tell you that, as I've been through with that already, i've been impatient with my career before and been saw the result. As what I am feeling right now I think your great. You are searching for an answer. Just focus on what you really want and remember patience is a virtue. Just be patient. But never ever forget to upgrade your self too. There is no problem whether you'll accept clinic nor community health nurse as long as you want this stuff, your wage is fair and felt satisfied in your job. In call center? I believe that If your heart made to be in healing profession, after months/years of working there you will still longing for caring job.

@suswot.. hi.. You can have another BST as much as you could.. But the thing here is, are you always willing to pay for the training? Mind you, you are already deserving to receive wage for your skills.

oh sh_t! that is really really irritating! Yeah.. even me I heard almost same stories in regards with these inconsiderate agency-referred clinics. actually, 175php for U/A is already expensive because the strip costs around 3php only but of course we can't deny the fact that they still give incentives for agencies who referred them clients. Anyway, try again to call them dinx that you are already out of budget and its really difficult for you nowadays to look for the money because blah blah blah any alibi that you think catchy and seems true. Because as for me it's really not practical to go again in Manila, for just UA, too expensive! whoa! That clinic makes me really upset.
