Job market for experienced nurses in Denver area?
I recently accepted a full time nights position (ICU) at a Centura Hospital. I'm from out of state as well. I interviewed with both Centura and exempla and thought both of their interview processes flowed quite nicely. I think I waited a week...maybe two before getting a call for an interview... They both seem like great systems...check out exempla and Centura if you have not done so yet! Like another poster said, you could check out agency or maybe do a travel contract there. Oh and get your Colorado license in hand, that looks better too, plus the licensing can take a while. Hope that helps a little bit!

First time traveler. Looking for travel buddies.
Anybody here going to Colorado soon? I'm starting a contract in Greeley 9/17 in the ER. I'm 28/f and this is my third travel contract. I think I'm officially addicted :)

Affordable housing from Craigslist.
Thanks for the advice! I have had my company set up housing for my first assignments, but may try this to see if I can save some money!

I've heard different views of travel nursing I'm looking to hear from travel nurses
I have never worked in California or Hawaii, although I am hoping to in the next year! I was nervous to take my first assignment, but am so glad I did! I had about 4 years total nursing experience before I started, but only had about 2 in my specialty (ER). Good luck!

I am 28/f also looking at traveling to Cali...probabaly not until about mid september however. I have my license already...its good you started early, because mine took about 3 months to come through! I have done two travel assignements, and am currently with Titan Medical, the company the commenter above mentioned. They have been great to work with so far, and so pay some travel expenses...however I am learning to negotiate negotiate negotiate! :) PM me if you'd like to chat more!

Asheville, NC
I just finished a travel assignment a couple hours east of Asheville, however while I was there had the opportunity to visit the area a couple of times. It's gorgeous and there is a lot to do. I highly recommend visiting the Biltmore estate and going zip-lining while you are there! Good luck!

Two internship offers..can't decide!
I started out cardiac in my first nursing job, and the tele and critical care experience I got from doing that was invaluable when I cross trained to ER and ICU...I am full time ER now. I think an internship is awesome, and either experience will be great for you. I don't know a lot about Methodist and their neuro program, but I do know Abbott is known for excellent cardiac care. A hospital I worked at on the outskirts of the cities before I started travel nursing used to send a lot of our cardiac patients to them. Good luck in whatever you choose and congrats on getting 2 offers!

Travel Nursing in Chicago and Minneapolis
I worked in Minneapolis for the past 4 years before taking off for my first travel assignment in January. Most of the hospitals in Mpls are union and don't see a ton of turnover, but I think like anywhere it can be hit and miss. I worked with a staffing/travel agency and did some per diem work when I was there...Favorite Healthcare Staffing is the name of the company. Minneapolis is a great place in the summer if you don't mind humidity...people are always out enjoying the weather, lakes, baseball games, etc because the winters can be so long! Good luck!

Working in Hail Saudi Arabia
Can you get hired directly into a specialty, or does everyone start M/S? I have 3 years ER experience and would feel pretty uncomfortable trying to go back to floor nursing. The money and travel experience sound amazing! Do you find other travelers like to go to visit other countries/vacation together, or do you travel alone?

Wheeling, WV
My recruiter is wanting to submit me for a position there in the ER to start in April. How is your experience so far? What unit are you in? and how long is your contract for? I'm travelling alone, and this will be my second assignment...she said there are a lot of other travelers there right now, so I'm hoping there will be great people to meet if I go.
