  2. Thanks for the comments...where do I do registry to confirm my skills can translate to another hospital?
  3. Thanks for your response. I currently have 1 year 6 months nd am thinking of going next August after becoming acls certified
  4. Do you find that you get the hardest patient loads?
  5. Hi I currently have 1.5 years of experience in med surge and stroke unit. I wanted to know how much experience you recommend? I have heard that as a travel nurse you get the heaviest patient loads and people may nt be willing to help you if ou have questions, is that true?
  6. How much experience did your med surg friends have before starting travel nursing?
  7. Hi I'm Jen. I graduated dec 2010 with a bsn and have been working on a medical surgical floor February 2011 to present. I would love to do travel nursing I have heard from my older coworkers that their friends who do it say they always get the worst patient load because they are the travel nurse. She recommended I get 5 years of experience because if I go now they'll give me the worst patients and I have to know a lot more than I know now because people won't help me if I ask questions or make a mistake. I'd like to do this before I get married otherwise I might not get the opportunity again. I'd like to work In California and Hawaii. As a travel nurse is the experience recommended? Is it true you get treated badly and get the heaviest patient load? When you are placed in housing is it generally in a low crime rate area? What kind of transportation are you provided with?
  8. You don't need the patho books at all, and for research the book was helpful for the last quiz but I got an A with powerpoints. As for your other classes, you'll need the book for nurs304 and nurs 333. Hope this helps!
