  1. hey guys I got rejected but some spots opened up and they offered me a spot. Im going to work full time and do part time program. I have a friend who just finished first year and said its completely doable the first year. The second year I wll have to reevaluate
  2. If you take the housing stipend is the hourly going to be lower? And overall how is the housing that the agencies provide?
  3. hey guys i know this topic is discussed regularly but I just need some more input. Im a nurse with 2 1/2 years of stepdown/telemetry experience in the houston texas area Im really interested in diong some travel nursing, my main objective is to try to get a position in the SF bay area I just absolutely love it there. My questions are 1.How do you know if youre getting a good deal with your contract with the agency 2.Do you feel like you make more or less if you were just a full time nurse working at a hospital 3. Is the hourly pay rate less if you take the stipend or take the housing offered. I know I probably sound like a broken record with these questions, any responses will be great thanks.
  4. cool! what department are you interviewing for?
  5. Hey I was just hired for the GN program and I start on June 7. It is true they only hire BSN graduates but I think it is a great instiution. My top two choices were TCH and Methodist but in the end I felt as if I could grow at Methodist better than at TCH. They just hold themselves to a high standard there and that ultimately promotes great patient safety and satisfaction. Base pay for RN is 26 and shift differential kicks in at 3pm which $3.25 more which is 29.25
  6. COngrats guys, yes the AC was broke and a lady passed out in front of the hospital and they required us to leave school due to really hot conditions!
  7. ohh yea in terms of acceptance letters you might get an interview in Novermber. UTMB is kinda slow when its come to the interview and notifying people business. I wish all of you good luck! Youre making a great career choice and UTMB is a great school even after the hurricane
  8. hey guys im a senior nursing student in the BSN graduating this spring 2010. When I got in the numbers looked like this around 700 applied they interviews roughly 150 and accepted roughlu 50. My gpa in sciences was a 4.0 with an overall 3.7. To be honest grades are important but to me its the essay that really set you apart. After that its the interview UTMB really likes well rounded students and I can tell that becuase of the questions they asked in the interview.
  9. I applied for a loan from them and it went real smoothly it really just depends if you have a strong co-signer. If you have weak credit then they give you a huge run around that gets quite annoying. I mean ive had good experiences overall every quarterly they send me how much interest has accrued from my original loan though it not pretty its helpful
