New Grad - What should I ask the interviewer.
These are very good tips. I just had an interview with SHC and blew it because I forgot what shared governance meant. Mash Mash would be so mad at me

Nearly $5 million will go to train new Arizona nurses
"Banner will identify the people within its organization it thinks will make good candidates for a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. Those participants will be educated at the Arizona State University College of Nursing. To "fill the void" left behind by the Banner staff moving up, Castillo said Chicanos por la Causa and Maricopa Workforce Connection will work to identify new candidates looking to start careers in health care." Wow, so they are recruiting internally? Story of the AZ healthcare system. You need to know someone to get in anywhere. That is so frustrating! And 700 RNs, about 800 RNs are produced every sesmster here.

Advice on part-time job will going to nursing school?
Definitely try to get anything in the hospital. I know MANY of my classmates that worked as PCT, CNA and even food service workers while in nursing school. I believe all of them are working as RN's. Had I known this, I would have definitely worked in a hospital. Being a new grad is so discouraging right now, get in early so by the time you graduate, you have a better chance. All of the people who had non hospital jobs are still looking 3 months later. Good luck :)

Possible job...should I take it?
Yes, take it! I have been looking for 3 months. As a new grad BSN no one wants to hire us. Take anything to get that first year under your belt. You are so incredibly lucky if you find a job within the first month of being hired. I've read on this forum it takes about 3-6 months and I even read a story of someone who had been looking for 22 months!

New Grad RN, can I work as a PCT
Yes, I have looked into those jobs as well, they all have 1-2 years experience required. And reading in this forum LTC RNs have 60-80 patients, I do not want that as a new grad.

New Grad RN, can I work as a PCT
I remember in my management class or somewhere, learning that we can't practice below our scope of practice, is this accurate? Can I not get a job to get my foot in the door during this hiring freeze? I'm just so deperate for a job I have run out of money and looking for jobs at grocery stores. If I had known I needed to work in a hospital to get an RN job I would have started in high school!!

Yuma Regional Medical Center
Hi, do you know if they are hiring new grads? Also do they offer housing for the employees? Thanks, and congrats!

Abrazo's new grad RN development academy
I would disagree. Or maybe because I'm very angry at the false hope I got from all the threads I've read about Abrazo's new grad program. I have a RN-BSN, I'm ACLS certified and I got rejected. I didn't even get a letter/email I had to keep checking my status. My friend got an interview and hired (but she got a Banner job) and it took them forever to contact her, they seem very disorganized to me. Maybe it's a good thing, doesn't sound like a desirable place to work anyway.

Plus size nurse concerned about O.R. scrubs
I would probably email and bring the scrubs with me. Don't be embarrassed. It's your body, it is what it is. You wouldn't be embarrassed if you needed special accommodation like a ramp if you were in a wheelchair right?

nclex practice percentage?
Is the NCLEX PN easier than the NCLEX RN? I know if I fail the RN one I can take the PN one right away. Are they different? I know RN's assess but do PN's have the ADPIE and all that stuff too?

nclex practice percentage?
Hi, sorry if this is already a thread (I looked though) I was wondering of the people who passed NCLEX, did you do practice exams to prepare? and what was your overall comprehensive percentage? I'm getting in the high 60's and I feel that I need around 75%, does any one agree? Thanks

Chamberlain (PHX) spoke with an adviser today...
Oro Valley is a long way from Phoenix. You should find a thread that talks about Tucson stuff or Pima Community College.
