Hi Progressive, Congrats on the Job! Where in So Cal are you? I live in So Cal as well and I'm in the process of getting my BSN. All I keep hearing is how tough it is to get a job, even with a BSN, which is why I decided to go for the BSN. Even my physio professor at my CC, announced to the class, not to bother with an ASN unless you plan to continue on and get the BSN. It's very frustrating, so it is so nice to hear something positive about the job market here....Thanks :-)

Chem was a beast for me too....I got a lot of help from khanacademy.org. I agree that if you want the best grade possible, take 1 science at a time with a 1 or 2 general eds. Hang in there :-)

Hey there, I hated chemistry! I am an A student and I struggled to get a B. It has been the most difficult class I have taken. I agree that khanacademy.org is great. There is also a website called markrosengarten.com that was really helpful, the guy is kind of goofy but he covers the material pretty well. I also watched a lot of you tube videos, some are really good and some not so much. Just keep watching videos and studying. You will get through it and you will be so happy when it's over!

Where I go to school anatomy and physio are taken seprately. Our anatomy lab was long too, we did so much! Looked at things under the microscope, looked at bones and models, built muscles out of clay and attached them on a skeleton model, disected cats, sheep brains, hearts and eyes, cow kidneys and looked at lots of body parts on a human cadaver....and so much more! We had seperate exams for lab and lecture and lab quizes every week, it was a lot of memorization. I was constantly looking at flashcards, labeling things and re-writing notes but, it all paid off...I got an A. It was a lot of work but so interesting! I am taking physio in the fall and can't wait to see what the lab is like. I have already taken chemistry, it was hard for me too and I didn't like it much either. Chemistry is a totally different beast, I think you'll love A&P.....Good Luck!

Hi there, What was the application process like, what did they require? I didnt know you could apply without having all the pre-reqs done? I know of one person who was in the first cohort and is graduating at the end of the year, she said she likes the program. I guess in the beginning they were kind of unorganized and didnt have the simulation labs all ready to go, but everything came together just fine.

Hi all! Does anyone out there know anything about APU's 2 plus 2 program in the high desert? I'm not from the area so any info would be greatly aprreciated, especially details on the program itself from any current students. Thanks so much!

Well said dragonfly! You have to have the attitude that nothing will stand in the way of your education....and make it happen! It will all be worth it in the long run.

Hi, I just saw saw this and I'm wondering if anyone out there that is attending APU in the high desert could share some info? I'm thinking about applying there. I know its fairly new and I would love some feedback on the facility, professors, clinical sites.....etc. I know theres a lot of pre-reqs, seems like more then most. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

I agree with Kamecee, that's exactly what I did and it got me an A in anatony. Make your own flashcards too and take them with everywhere! I also re-wrote or typed my notes, highlighted like crazy and went over them many many times as a study guide. I went from text book to notes, to flashcards. The key is repetition and saturation.....it is a lot of information....it will sink in! Good luck :)

I just started it too.....so far I hate it! I'm not that great at math so I feel totally lost. I have been to the Khanacademy website, got the homework helpers book, and just ordered a tutoring dvd. I am determined to do well. Just don't give up, good luck! :)

Hi, I am currently working on finishing uo my pre-reqs at VVC and plan on attending the nursing program there. Just wanting some feedback from current or former students about their experience there. Would love to know all the details...good and bad. How long did it take to get in? For those that finished, did you feel well prepared? Etc...Etc...Etc...Thanks :)
