  1. Hey guys I recently applied to johns Hopkins and landed two interviews and I just got a job offer from one of them. So they are hiring new grads! Don't lose hope ! Be persistent
  2. See I here mixed messages about going in to HR and asking to speak to a recruiter. Some people say you get turned away or that people are rude to you and just tell you to apply online. And it stinks that I live all the way up here and have only just been emailing different people. But maybe I'll see what I can do to upgrade my harassment skills lol.
  3. Yes I do have my virginia license and I have now also sent in the app for a nj license. Might as well broaden my options even though that was not part of the original plan. Are you a new grad as well?
  4. Yes I do have my virginia license. I also jus decided to send the application for a nj license. Might as well broaden my options even though that wasn't the original plan. Are you a new grad as well?
  5. Yes I spoke to her 2 weeks ago and she asked me a whole bunch of questions but when I followed up I was told that I was not chosen for an interview I guess I'm just going to keep applying everywhere I can. So frustrating.
  6. i know im weeks late. but im in the same situation right now. i received a call from a vhc recruiter and i got a voicemail. phone didnt ring. i called back and got asked all these questions. i was taken a little by surprise. anybody know what the next step would be or if they only call people that they're really interested in? she told me to wait a week or 2 for a call back.
  7. Well the problem with that is that I live in new jersey lol. I'm trying to relocate. And ill look into nvmhi but I've been working in psych for the last 2 years now and I kind of wanted to try something different. But if all else fails I might just have to settle. Thanks for the info! :)
  8. Thanks lunah. I talked to my friend and she shed some light on the hiring process for me. Guess I'll just be waiting to hear back from VHC and just apply elsewhere in the meantime. :)
  9. I applied for over 20 job postings at Inova about 2 weeks ago and have received nothing back from them. I don't even have the nurse recruiter information there. Is there anyway you can PM me with it? I'm desperate lol. I am still waiting back to hear from the VHC recruiter. I just wanted to know or hear some reassurance from people who have had experience applying. I'm going crazy waiting to hear back from anyone
  10. Does anybody know what it means if they are putting in your application for review? I got a call from a recruiter and she said that she was putting my app in for review and to wait about a week or 2 for a call back for an interview. Does this mean that they're really considering hiring me??? Please someone help lol. I'm a desperate new grad RN looking for a job
  11. oops. you said critical care. wow thats awesome! best of luck to u =)
  12. Yea I've already applied for various positions at INOVA and have yet to receive anything. Granted it's only been 2 days. lol. I'm counting on my friend to score me an interview so fingers crossed. But I will def. check out the Johns Hopkins site. Thats definitely an option for me. What floor did you get on if you dont mind me asking.
  13. Any chance you have the nurse recruiter info at INOVA or Johns Hopkins? Can you PM me? I'd greatly appreciate any help! Thank you sooo much :)
  14. Very useful info especially for someone from out of state. THANKS! =)
  15. Do you know if they take new grads? Thanks! =)
  16. Thanks for the info. I checked the time and it is about an hour from DC. I've really been looking at INOVA and I'm tryin to get a friend to pull in a favor for me so I can get an interview so I shall let you kno how that goes. Thanks once again!
  17. Thanks for the info. I'm kind of looking for something closer to the DC area though. I will check it out regardless. If you dont mind, how was the transition for you? I just graduated and my parents think Im crazy for moving somewhere where I have no family, although I do have friends down there. I just kind of wanted to go elsewhere since Im still young. Now I'm just going crazy applying everywhere that I can hoping I get a call back from someone. Well any information you would have about moving would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
  18. I know it's been a year already but I was wondering if you still had the info for the nurse recruiter at INOVA. I'm a new grad from NJ looking to relocate and I would greatly appreciate it if you could pass on the info. Thanks!
  19. Yea I heard NJ takes awhile. I recently graduated from a school in NJ but I applied for licensure in VA and so my license was up within 24 hrs after I took my NCLEX. I am now looking to also apply for license in NJ but everybody makes it seem like its going to take forever. But if you want your NCLEX results I believe NJ offers the 48 hour quick result with Pearson. You do have to pay $8. Hope this helps!
  20. Yes you can pay to register with Pearson without having the fingerprints first.
  21. Hi Nurses-Rule1987, Do you happen to have the nurse recruiter's number at VHC? I'm from NJ and looking to relocate so I'm applying to every hospital hoping one of them hires new grads. Do you mind me asking what floor you got? Any info would be of great help. Thanks! -Evelyn
  22. Hi Regina, I am also a new grad nurse and I just passed my boards and Im looking to move from NJ to Virginia. Did you ever find a job? Or do you know which ones hire new grads? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  23. congrats!!
