  1. I have applied for New Nurse positions in the areas of my interest, I guess, at every hospital in Northern VA/DC/Maryland and got rejected by almost all of them:( I can't figure out what the problem is: I finished school with a GPA of 3.92, fluent in foreign languages, licensed, certified...among other things. So, what's the deal? Maybe, because I moved here from a different state and they only hire "their" grads? Or is it because I have an ASN, not a BSN? Just getting discouraged...
  2. Inova Hospitals website lists different internship positions for new nurses. I am not sure how to apply. Does anyone have a contact info of the nurse recruiter there? Thanks
  3. Quick Update: I passed the boards! Praise be to the Lord! I used Saunders Comprehensive Review. I studied for about 1-2 hours a day by going through the questions and reading the rationales. I thought the actual exam was very hard. I only got 75 questions. Best wishes to those of you who're still getting ready.
  4. If anyone has already taken and passed the exam, what is the best book to study with? I am taking this exam on my own (without any paid review class) and I need to make sure I study with the right book. Thank you!
  5. Guys, who already started Ivy Tech Nursing program-Indianapolis, please share your experience with those who are about to start. How intense is it? Which semester was the hardest? What did you do at your clinicals during the first semester? Etc..
  6. What do you mean by "sponsoring foreign nurses"? If you got your nursing degree in the States, then you are an American nurse, not foreign, and why would they make a distinction between an immigrant and someone who was born in the states? I never heard of anything like that. And I am "foreign"
  7. I did, only by grace of God!
  8. Thanks a lot for your support. I did not think I would stress out so much over this, but I do, especially when there is not much you can do, just e-mail. I can not wait to be back.
  9. Adrienne, that's the problem. I am visiting my family in Ukraine and won't be back until the end of the week. My husband is trying to find something out but they do not want to disclose any info to him. He spoke with Ms. Koller and she told him to have me e-mail her. I did, but have not heard anything back yet. I am SO frustrated! When is your orientation?
  10. Thank you very much for posting the reply. I had 88 on TEAS and all A's. My composite was 211. I read someplace here that someone had a composite score of 227, so I am wondering how such a number could come up, unless of course this person got 104 on the test?:)
  11. Adrienne, I applied for Fall 2007 in Indianapolis and as of June 6th have not heard anything. I have a feeling I did not get in:( Could you please share what TEAS score you needed to get in?
  12. Hi, Gals! I am a little late here. I applied in Indianapolis for Fall 2007 and still have not received ANYTHING. In fact I am out of country right now, so I call home every day. My hubby called there and they said they had mailed out the letters a week ago. Does anyone know or has received anything?
