Did you like being a CNA?
No. They have some one make the meals and the I have to plate them. We don't have housekeeping either. I knew some housekeeping was part of the job description, but seriously! I get paid minimum wage.

Did you like being a CNA?
I love my residents, but am having a hard time w everything else. Please don't bash me. I have 15 residents, mainly by myself. I have the majority of dementia /Alzheimer's. Some have CHF, COPD and other issues. I have to clean 15 rooms including mopping and vacuuming, laundry, getting meals prepped among others.

A Nursing Student with Epilepsy?
I found out the hard way that you need to inform others of a hx of seizures. I had one at my CNA graduation. It was a withdrawl seizure from one of my meds. Not my anti-seizure meds though. I was so embarrassed! I have had them my entire life, and normally they are very well controlled. Like I mentioned earlier, it was a withdrawal seizure. I take Triliptal. Does anyone else take it and have memory issues too?

One of my favorite patients nearly made me cry.
I work in Assisted Living. The other day, one of my favorite residents told me that he hopes I stay for a long time, because I bring so much joy to the residents. I didn't know if I should have cried or hugged him! It's great to be told you matter to them. :)

Can anyone help me figure this out?
Thank you! How was your first semester of the program? Comp 1000 was a requirement, and that is what I got the C in. I am not going to stress it. I know I did my best. All I can do is take my PSB, and then it's out of my hands. I have to think that, or I will drive myself crazy!:)

Can anyone help me figure this out?
I just finished ALL my core classes YAY! Last semester I had a 4.0 GPA. Here is a breakdown of all the classes I had and the grades I got. Math-A English-A Psychology-A Diet and Nutrition Therapy-B Anatomy and Psychology-B Comp 1000-C Now with all that, what do you think my chances are of getting accecpted into the LPN program at my school are? A "C" is considered passing for Computers. I would rather take Anatomy again than to take Computers. Does anyone know how to figure out what my current GPA is?

Overwhelmed already.
You are right, I am attending MGTC. I do have Dr. C for A&P, and I really like him! He seems REALLY laid back. My friend took her DN test yesterday, and said there were 50 questions!!! HOLY COW! I am nervous about taking it, considering I didn't do that great on the homework. You have Bernhard, right? If so, we are probably in the same online class. I wish this wasn't an online class! So much to do!!! WOW! I am also taking Computers, and its just so much! I can't even imagine getting as far as you have, and all the work you are having to do! Thanks for replying. I hope to talk to you soon! Donna

Overwhelmed already.
I am in my second week of my second semester of core courses for the LPN program. I am taking three classes. A&P, Computers, and Nutrition and Diet Therapy. OMG..the last class is going to KILL me! It's an 8 week class, ALL ONLINE and we do 3 chapters at a time. Not to mention A&P(which isn't that bad), and computers. I am SO OVERWHELMED! I am trying my hardest to study whenever I can. I have a husband, a 7 year old and a 2.5 yo. I did GREAT last semester! I was taking 3 classes also, and finished with a 4.0! :) I won't even start on how nervous I am for the entrance exam I have to take at some point during this semester! Breathe, Donna!!! Thanks, Donna

Any mamas with a 2-3 yr old and started pre-req's here?
You may not have a choice if your class is online or not. My Psych class is a hybrid class. We do the work online, and meet once a week in class to talk about it. I wouldn't choose it that way, but that's how it is.

Any mamas with a 2-3 yr old and started pre-req's here?
I just started my pre-reqs in August. I am taking Math, Eng, and Psych. I am 32, have been out of highschool for 13 years. I am married, have a 7 y.o daughter, and a 2 y/o son. I stay at home with my son during the day, and my dh gets home from work around 4, and then I leave to go to the library for a couple hrs before my class starts, and after class I go back to the library until it closes at 9. My husband has been so very supportive. I am not going to lie, it's hard. I can't imagine doing this AND working at the same time. I have no idea how ya'll do it! But, if this is what you want to do, you will make it work. Good luck!!

When to take the PSB?
Thank you!! I don't have classes today, but I am going to the library, so I will ask to see the PSB test stuff. :)

When to take the PSB?
Hey everyone, I just finished my first week of school! :) I am going to Middle Ga Tech in Warner Robins. I had read that you can take the PSB anytime during your core classes. When is the "ideal" time to take it? I am taking four Core classes right now. Math, English, Psych, and Nutrition. To my understanding, I think there are 2 more cores that I need to take. Also, is there a way to study for the PSB, or is it just based on common knowledge? I want to do the best I possibly can. Thanks so much! Donna
