  1. Hey everyone! I am thrilled to be starting the ADN program in Jan. It will be great to have a place to go for support : ) I am so glad to be a part!! Did anyone get sick after taking shots? I took the Hep B and Tetorifice and had cough, brain fog and major fatigue for 3 weeks. It was terrible. I am very healthy and have never experience anything like that before. I finally snapped out of it. First the cough went away, then I got my energy and mind back. This is really strange and alarming. I am scheduled for my 2nd one next week and I am really scared. Any advice?
  2. I appreciate your words more than I can say. I was denied a week ago and it just about killed me. I wasn't sure how to go on. I have work SO hard and can't believe that it isn't paying off. My heart was heavy for a bit but now I am working to figure out what I can do for future applications. I am waiting on a meeting date with the nursing director. I will not give up!! My strength has been challenged and NOW it is time to rise to the occasion as I always do. THANKS for your encouragement...I actually cried ; )
  3. Thanks to all of you for your responses...I feel better about it now!!!!
  4. No, I haven't gotten a schedule yet. I am actually still waiting on my acceptance letter....it is suppose to arrive next week. Thanks for you response...it helps a lot. I was thinking like 5 days a week clinicals with only weekends to study. Thanks so much!!
  5. I took version IV. This is the first semester my school has required it for entrance into the nursing program and there is not a set percentage you must make to be admitted. However, some of the other nursing programs around my area requires at least 80% for admissions and one school that I looked at would only allow you to take it twice. I do not like to admit it but I made a 70%. I froze on the very first section which was reading. My brain just locked up on me. It was weird. I pulled it back together for the rest of the test. I should've and could've done better. Check with the schools you are applying and see what there TEAS requirements are. I found it on-line at the schools website. I know a lot of people who did "average" on the TEAS so don't be too hard on yourself...really! :)
  6. I am wondering what are the hours for nursing school and when do clinicals usually start during the program? I don't really know what to expect. Thanks!!!
  7. I turned in my app at the beginning of April. I heard we are supposed to receive our letters next week. The wait is hard, but I am trying to remain neutral (not worrying too much or getting too excited).
  8. any opinions on whether or not i should take clinical calculations (on-line) as a pre-nursing student to prepare for the nursing program starting in aug? i am thinking i will not learn much with it being an on-line course and that is the reason for taking it ahead of time. should i just teach myself?
  9. So which smartphone would be better for nursing school?
  10. Thanks. I feel like I will be fine not taking it beforehand and your comment helps to reassure me.
  11. I am a pre-nursing student awaiting my letter of acceptance. I am registered to take an on-line clinical calculations course starting in a few days. I pay for school out-of-pocket without any finanical aid. Math is not easy nor hard for me. I get it when I am taught. My reason for taking this course is to be prepared for the drug dosage test etc. From my previous experience with on-line courses you are very much on your own in the learning process. I started thinking about it and I am not sure that taking this course will be very helpful. I do not want to waste money and my main interest is in being taught the information in order to really learn and know it. It is listed as a course that will be taken while in actual program (not on-line). Should I just wait? Any advice on whether or not I should take it?
