  1. Have you had a chance to speak to an enrollment counselor from WGU by any chance? I had questions when I was unsure if the program would be a good fit for me. Speaking to an enrollment counselor made making the decision easier and he was also able to answer all of my questions.
  2. Hi all, in regards to the webcam anyone using a Macbook? I have a Macbook Pro but some people have said that it may not be compatible for the webcam. Just wondering if anyone has any advice/experience with this. Thanks!
  3. Congrats! I'm happy that we were able to get our May 1 start date like we planned :)
  4. Well, looks like I'm cleared for a May 1 start date. I'm going to do the online orientation this week. How's everyone else doing?
  5. I filled out all of the FAFSA, I'm just waiting on WGU to put the financial aid in the student portal so I can accept the offer. By any chance did you receive a loan offer already?
  6. I did my intake interview today and it looks like I'm set for a May 1 start date! I'm just waiting for the financial aid paperwork to come up for me to sign. My enrollment counselor says it could take between 3-8 days for it to show on the WGU portal. I'm hoping this process goes by smoother than the transcript process. Good luck to everyone on finishing up the process!
  7. Wow Commuter I'm so sorry to hear that . It's stressful enough having to do the application process and play the waiting game. You would think they would have said something sooner?
  8. Thank you! I spoke to my enrollment counselor and I'm scheduled to do the intake interview on Thursday. Is there anything specific they ask you or is it just running through the program?
  9. Not sure if it's been asked before in this thread but how long do the transcript evaluations normally take? Luckily, both of mine arrived within the last few days. Though it was late, I'm still happy they arrived.
  10. Well, looks like they received one of my transcripts. My other school handles transcript requests through National Student Clearinghouse. It was mailed out on 3/18/14 and it does not look like they have received it. Anyone familiar with how National Student Clearinghouse works? I may just end up putting another request in. *sigh*. Still crossing my fingers and trying to remain positive! =)
  11. It seems like my chances are getting slim on a May 1 start date. Still no transcripts. It's so frustrating :'(
  12. Congrats! I'm trying to do my immunization records too (also from CA). When I tried to register for ITS it's asking me for a student ID but I don't have one yet. Did you have to ask your enrollment counselor for it? Thanks!
  13. That's so frustrating. The same thing happened to me. I was told up to 48 hours to process. I ordered them on 3/9 but they did not get mailed until 3/18. I followed up with my enrollment counselor who says it doesn't seem like they have received it yet. I'm hoping it gets there and they process it soon because I'm really aiming for a May 1 start date. *fingers crossed*
  14. Congrats to everyone! I'm still waiting for WGU to review my transcript. It was mailed it out on the 18th, hopefully it's there now. Can anyone tell me what the interview portion is like? My enrollment counselor says it's nothing tedious, but just curious if anyone has any input? Thanks!
  15. Hi, I haven't started yet but hope to start May 1. I'm currently employed and I know one of the requirements for WGU is to be employed. However, does it matter if you stop working while in school? Does it affect finishing the program? Thanks!
  16. Masters Promissory Note for the financial aid. Still not 100% sure I want it yet, depends on the interest rate they give me =). By any chance does anyone know how working with a preceptor works for the MSN program? I was reading through the program guide trying to figure out how many times we have to work with a preceptor, I only noticed we only have to do it for one class (MSN leadership)?
  17. I completed most of the process as well over the weekend. I still need to sign the MPN, background check and immunization verification. I'm hoping to start the MSN leadership and management program on May 1. Makes me nervous :)
  18. Hi all, I graduated in December 2011 and passed NCLEX in February 2012. I thought that once NCLEX was out of the way, everything would fall into place. I've been trying to stay positive but I have filled out so many applications and have only received a few rejection e-mails. I'm not sure where to go from here. I have been told to move, which I'm prepared to do, but would rather not do just yet. I have also been told to apply to SNF's. It seems to be that working in a SNF as a New Grad is the kiss of death? Can anyone give me any insight into working at a SNF as a New Grad and how it may affect me getting into the hospital one day? Thanks! :)
  19. Took my exam on 2/16 and I'm dying of anticipation. I've been doing the PV trick everyday since and I keep getting the "good pop-up". I wish California had quick results =/. All of my friends keep telling me to go celebrate but it won't feel real to me until I see my name on the CA BRN! Not to mention the BRN is closed on the weekend and yesterday was a holiday. Agghh!
  20. I wish people would not give me such a hard time about these acrylics =/. I appreciate all the advice and I will be removing them prior to the exam. I am well aware that acrylic nails harbor bacteria (I went to school and heard this the whole time). I decided to get them just because it was graduation and just for FUN! I obviously WILL NOT wear them to a job interview. I know how to look presentable. :uhoh21:
