Quota/year?
Thanks Ameddrep, I just tried the chat, the recruiters aren't very familiar with the details of this program. I emailed my healthcare recruiter to double check if the MAVNI recruitment can still be done beyond the regular army quota. Lets see...

Quota/year?
so you never had to go through MEPs? Well, for me the process is lengthened by stringent background check, coz im not a ctizen , followed my physical exam, army computer test, then i will be eligible to fill the application, followed by boards.

Quota/year?
thanks for all the replies guys, atleast now I know how long to wait. I cant seek other military branches because I am trying to enlist under teh new MAVNI program for non-citizens which would run till dec 31. So this kinda puts me at a tough spot, no hiring till oct, and after dec 31 for me. Lets hope my packet is ready for oct boards.

Quota/year?
Hi all, I met a healthcare recruiter last week, passed the pre-qualifying test, submitted my CV for review. I was told that the quota for med-surg nurses for this year for army is almost filled, which means no hiring till oct 09 when next fiscal year kicks in. I am not very clear about this...does this mean my recruiter has met his hiring quota for the year, or is their a specific numeric quota for army reserve for each year...also, is their any way i can still hope to be hired in this fiscal year...?? appreciate your rsponse guys, I owe a lot to this forum!!

My process in joining the Airforce
Thanks for the detailed response Athena. I am trying to start the recruitment process under the army's new MAVNI program. I have tried online chat sessions, was asked to send a email, got a response that recruitment hasn't started yet, eventhough all immigration websites that i frequent as well as the army website say that recruitment has already started. My question to u is- How exactly does one fine a nurse or a healthcare recruiter. I am also trying to get into reserves. Thanks again!!

Ccu, Cvicu, Micu
I am still debating between sicu, trauma/neuro, and open heart. i am being interviewed for a critical care float pool where they wud assign me to micu, sicu, trauma/neuro, neuroscience....or i can try for the cardiac float pool which covers open heart and ccu....my reading at this forums suggest SICU as the most desirable for all crna programs...can anybody concur this....any and all suggestions wud be appreciated guys..thanks!!

Ccu, Cvicu, Micu
I am also currently debating b/w SICU, Trauma/Neuro or Oper heart unit. how wud i know which has the sickest patient? Also i plan to work for atleast 2 years then apply to as many schools around me, so inquiring from each director doesn't seems feasible. My personal reading at this forum point towards SICU as the most preferred one, but i am still debating...what do u guys suggest for a "critical care Float pool", if i take that position, i wud be assigned to everywhere from sicu, micu, burn, trauma/neuro, and neuroscience...or i can try for cardiac float pool which covers open heart and ccu....gosh lot of choices...wud appreciate ur valuable input guys!!

Ccu, Cvicu, Micu

I did look at upenn's residency program, but it states that the minimum requirement is a BSN, while i am graduating from an ADN program. Would u pls. suggest any other hospitals that have such programs, but are willing to admit ADN graduates aswell? thanks in advance!
