Im moving to lynchburg VA
Just wanted to make a slight correction: May of 2013 will be the last graduating diploma class from LGH. Centra College of Nursing is an ADN program and the community college does not have a separate class, the ADN students simply take their general ed courses there. But there will still be a LOT of new grads (Around 60 from LGH, 20 ADNs from Centra plus the grads from LC and LU).

HELP PLEASE !!!!!!!! MICROBIOLOGYw/LAB ONLINE FAST
Paul D Camp CC in Virginia offers an online micro course. 4 credit hours. I learned a lot in the content area of the course. There is no lab kit to buy so I imagine I didn't learn as much doing virtual labs as other students in a real lab, but it was worth it.

Biopsy and Ablation the week before school starts???
I had this done in January. My biopsy was uncomfortable and I'm glad I made my husband drive me to the appointment as I was a bit light-headed afterwards. The cramping was nothing that 800 mg ibuprofen, a heating pad and a nap couldn't fix. I had a laproscopic tubal ligation along with the ablation. I think most of my recovery was actually from that procedure. I was teaching preschool at the time and was back to work in 2 days. Given your time frame, I think you'll be fine.

Do you feel this way too?
I had an experience like yours in my A&P class in a CC. The class itself left a lot to be desired but some of my fellow students were ridiculous. Our tests were worth 110 points each (built-in extra credit) and my guess is that only 3 or 4 students routinely got A's. One girl in particular would interrupt the teacher all the time asking "how do you spell that?". The problem is, we were going over outlines and most of the time the word was right there in front of her. That same girl showed up to the final and swore she didn't know we had a final that night, could she take it another time? I really hope the application process weeded out some of these people, because it really scared me that they would be responsible for anyone's well-being.

ADN class of 2013
I just received my acceptance letter yesterday and classes start Aug. 22. I am thrilled and anxious and most importantly, trying to figure out how to pay for it all, but I figure we're all in the same boat.

ODU's accelerated BSN program????
I worked as a clinical research coordinator over 10 years ago, but no licensed health care experience. I didn't apply any where else. I looked into the program at VCU/MCV (I lived in the western part of HR) but had missed the deadline. Good luck!

ODU's accelerated BSN program????
I was accepted to the accelerated ODU program for Fall 2011. Unfortunately, my husband was transferred to another area of the state so I was unable to enroll. I have a BA in Biology/Psychology from way back in 1996 with a 3.2 and had taken A&P, Micro and ethics at the local community college over the last year with a 4.0. I think weight is placed on the pre-req classes rather than your entire class load. I also looked at the Sentara program. I would have needed more classes to get into that program than I needed to apply to the Physician Assistant program at EVMS. Definitely apply. Good luck!

Accelerated BSN programs that do NOT require letters of reference?
Old Dominion does not require recommendations. I was accepted for fall but unfortunately had to decline as I will be moving out of the area. Now I have to apply all over again somewhere else!
