  1. Oops..... Typo.. I graduated aug 2013. Lol. Feels like soo long ago. Sorry
  2. Mrs. Mouzon was my professor. I think the first two tests were the hardest. Most of the class were struggling throughout the semester but pulled it out in the end. Especially on the last test. My scores were all in the 80's. I didnt really read the text much. I Read the articles multiple times and used Hurst review Med-surg book also. It helped. One more hint.... The best clinical for 5 th semester is Mrs. Perrine in georgetown. She is wonderful. And it was the only clinical in my class that was in the ICU. The rest were on the med surg floors. Its a bit if a drive to georgetown hospital but well worth it!!!!
  3. I graduated from HGTC RN program in aug 2012 and unless things have drastically changed, the fail rate was not that high. We only had 5 ppl fail the semester. Study the class notes and READ THE ARTICLES and u will do fine. Alot of test questions come from the articles. As far as transferring goes, u will not be able to transfer all of your nursing courses.
  4. PVT DOES WORK!! My license number was posted the very next day!
  5. I took my test at 8am this morning and tried the trick about 3pm and got the good pop up. I had a ton of SATA, no math, two exhibits, 4 EKG strips, 3 pics, 3 drag and drop. It was crazy! I left the testing center hysterical so i figured that it had to be a sign that i passed
  6. Congrats! I took it today and got the good popup also. I agree with you about the SATA questions. Most of my test was SATA and three in a row a few times. I couldn't have answered all those SATA's right. I did get all 265 questions and was histerical at the end which made me believe that i passed!
  7. I took the Nclex for the first time on Nov 1st and failed with 265 questions. I used Kaplan and it did not help me. I took it for the second time at 8:00am today, and had 265 questions. I used hurst review this time. I just did the PVT and got the good popup! Yay
  8. I am in the same boat... I graduate may 13 and feel like I don't know anything. I start clinical in the ICU Monday and I am so nervous.
  9. 120 days til graduation!!!!
  10. In my school, we are not allowed to record lectures so i would check with your school before recording lectures. The rationale they gave us for not recording lectures was because they may mention patient info or experiences during class and other students talk about family experiences during class and its a confidentiality issue.
  11. I have done it since nursing 101 class and i am going into my last semester in two weeks. I love it. I only take out what i need for each exam. I use three ring binders. If you are careful the pages will not rip out. It takes a few hours to debind them... But worth it. Also.. It makes it easy to add powerpoints to your binder.
  12. We were allowed to do IV push during third thru fifth semesters only with an instructor, Not with an RN. I imagine we will be allowed to do them with our preceptor... But will not find out til semster starts in january.
  13. In my school, we started focusing on time management skills, assessment, heavy on pharmacology and computerized documentation.
  14. Pre-nursing: statistics. Nursing: OB/peds. Especially OB. It was like a different world compared to med surg. I took alot of notes and used kaplan.
