  1. I would not pass on the LPN program if offered, if you do not make the RN program. There is something to be said for the expierience you would gain while waiting. Plus you will need the increased income to bridge over. Unless father time is beating down your door, then there is nothing wrong with going low and slow. Nursing will always be here so take your time and do what is best for you.
  2. Maybe you should consider getting your hormone level checked. Its possible a low dose hormone birth control would help. You sound like me when I was pregnant. Just an idea;)
  3. If its prescribed for a valed medical reason and you tolerate it without comprimising your actions then I would use the medicine as directed. Some people have severe anxiety and need the medicine end of story. If it effects you in a adverse way try something non narcotic like buspar when at work.
  4. When choosing between a LPN certificate or a RN degree really depends on where you see yourself (aka what kind of setting you want to be in). As a general rule hospitals are weeding out LPN positions. Which leaves you with either nursing homes or clinics. Clinics are harder to get into and tend to pay less. Nursing homes pay good but utilizes only a smidgen of what you learn in school and keep you with the elderly population. I happen to be able to have gotten a job in a hospital but the pay is substanderd. I am not allowed to take orders from MD's and everything must go through a RN. You had better hope that your RN doesnt have a big head or have substanderd education, because it reflects badly on you. Your nursing judgment often is not considered in a hospital setting either from the MD's or RN's. However I am IV certified and am competent in all Med surg situations. I am constrained in what I can and can not due which is very frustrating. I intend to go back for my RN however Im not sure when that will be. So my advice is to think long and hard about where you see yourself personally and professionally.
