I got an email on Friday (8/9) for the questionnaire. It was from Darrell and it said they plan to start interviews the week of August 19. The title said "New Grad Residency October 2013". So I don't know if I applied to the same one you all are talking about. I have applied to so many jobs that it is all a blur lol! But I just wanted to share this information.

Hello! I am a senior nursing student at UMSL. I was on the waitlist before I got in as well. I started at number 22 and quickly moved up every week (I called for updates often). The admission rep told me it's common for many people to drop before the term starts but "nothing can be promised, so don't give up hope". It's true! A lot of things/life can change! I got the call for a spot two weeks before the semester started. And even during the first week of school they brought in a few more students. Good luck to you!

I also just started this semester. I'm still trying to figure out how to study in this type of academic environment. I used to read and make flash cards. Now I feel like nothing works and I'm so lost. All my study buddies are making A's and I'm making B+'s. The most frustrating thing is, I know the material, but I'm having trouble with the tricky questions on exams. Reading this thread has helped me though. I already started catching on to some of the study habits that I should adopt. And then reading about them here just further solidified the idea that I might be moving in the right direction. As frustrating as it is, I know it will be a learning process. I'd be surprised if people just walked into nursing school knowing how to do everything already... That was an excellent point about thinking like a nurse as opposed to textbook. I think this is a huge problem for me. Right now I feel like, "Will I even pass this class? Will I make it through school?" All I can think about it getting through one day at a time. So I'm definitely more a textbook person. Being an EMT, I know that practical application is just as important.

I just called and found out I am waitlisted as well. I'm number 21. What is your number? The lady I spoke with told me that it's not uncommon to go through the first 30 people on the waitlist before the semester starts. Hopefully we have a chance!

Oh ok. That makes more sense to me. Sorry for the small freak-out :) I'm just very anxious to get my letter, whatever it is. And I see the same thing on my umsl account.

Are you talking about the Fall 2011 traditional program? I was told we wouldn't get any letters until the first week of March..... I haven't received anything. Not even a rejection letter. I wasn't too worried until I read that you were waitlisted a week ago! I'm confused!
