  1. my application was sent today- overnight mail. here is hoping that i will be selected for an onc health it scholarship.
  2. I agree with a lot of the feedback you've already been given. 7-8 patients sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. Perhaps look for substitute school nurse positions both in public/private schools in your area or something that isn't hospital based right off the bat if you're not having much luck with hospitals in your area. You don't need to work at a place where the staff isn't supportive, that's for sure.
  3. Hi Everyone--- I'm sitting for the exam tomorrow...please include me in your prayers/thoughts tonight & tomorrow!!! I'm going to take it easy tonight, just review some lab values, meds & practice some dosage, maybe some SATA questions & PRAY PRAY PRAY tonight & all the way until that test shuts off!!
  4. Thanks for posting this!! I'm trying to create a mini review guide to look at the last 2 days before my test & this is VERY helpful :yelclap:
  5. Congrats to everyone who has passed on the August 2011 thread so far! I hope to join the ranks of you all soon...I test this Thursday:eek: I reached out to a good friend who is a RN now for any advice/words of wisdom these last few days & her "lack of support" really hit me hard today & it's been hard to shake it off... guess I will stick to the forum until test time. I will be practicing SATA style questions tonight, since those scare the heck outta me, then will need to decide how to spend my last few days of test prep so I don't burn myself out!!! GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE THIS MONTH!!!
  6. Thanks for posting this!!! I re-rest on the 25th and thankfully it is an afternoon test time I'm working on all the material review as best I can, but I also need to start working on the anxiety factor of this exam, which is already creeping up on me! Congrats on the good pop-up, I look forward to sharing my success with the exam in a few weeks :)
  7. I'm finding that i'm doing significantly better on my kaplan questions after working in the LaCharity book. Personally, I don't know why they don't hand this book to every nursing student at orientation! I plan to work on the case studies as well to keep the momentum going :yelclap:
  8. Hello everyone! I re-scheduled my test date--- it is still in August, and it's 6 days after my original test date, but I feel that a sense of anxiety was lifted having some extra time. My goal is to keep doing 150 questions/day and SIT STILL while doing it! Also working on the Kaplan Q trainers too--- heck if someone told me to eat only certain foods and sit on my head to guarantee I'd pass, I would do it!! Keeping all August test takers in my prayers!!
  9. Hello!! I will be sitting for my exam in August as well. This will be my 3rd (and praying my LAST) time meeting head to head with this exam. I think I have WAY too many cds/books/practice questions at my disposal, so I'm narrowing now what resources use the most to get me where I need to be. Best of luck to everyone studying for August!!!!
  10. I just purchased the software last week and have been using it almost daily. As I haven't taken boards yet (I will next month) I can't answer your specific question. What prompted me to buy the software was the mention of it being computer adaptive, which I really hope is true...as a repeat NCLEX taker, I'm trying to find a good balance between reviewing content, and answering as many questions as possible with reviewing rationales. In addition to the NCLEX 10,000 software, I do have the NCLEX 4000, Kaplan books, Feuer audio review, and Saunders 4th ed that was passed down to me. Best of luck with studying!!!!
  11. Hello! I'm new to the forum & just wanted to say THANK YOU for sharing your review material. I graduated in Dec2009 and after 2 unsuccessful attempts, I had to just walk away from my review materials & re-group...starting up again is hard, but I'm encouraged by the support here on the forum.
