  1. hello!i think you should contact your BON (where you seek for licensure) and ask them if they require foreign graduate nurses to be licensed on their country of origin and you can take it from there. I also had the same case (as a filipino graduate) but i took my NLE and passed.I went here in the U.S as an immigrant and took the NLCEX-RN Cali and also passed. Now im on the process of transferring my license to R.I (Long Story) and as one of the BON's requirement is the CGFNS-CES (Credential Evaluation Services) because im a foreign graduate. I went straight to the CGFNS website and checked the CES order.Honestly, i got stressed because they were asking for my local license number and unfortunately it just got expired this yr.I was totally confused and even posted tons of threads for this concern. I followed what other nurses advised me to do and studied the whole process well (reading every single detail and endless phone calls).i decided to call the BON of RI and asked them if they require the local license.Thank God the representative told me that for as long as i already have my license in Cali as an RN everything is all set. I also submitted a copy of my philippines RN license in cali during the NCLEX application. And according to them, Cali-BON would be the one responsible to give them the necessary information with regards to my RN licenses. Just wanna share what i experienced and i hope somehow it may help you in any way.
  2. ~Im sorry if this post is quite long...pls find time to read it because i really need some HELP right now... hello!First of all, I really don't know if this is the right forum to post my inquiry but im just trying my luck that maybe someone can help me or atleast enlighten me with my problem. Im a Filipino nurse and now an immigrant here in the united states. I just passed my NCLEX RN california last august and i took it here in rhode island. Now im trying to apply for an endorsement/reciprocity of my RN license from california to rhode island so i can start working as a nurse. i downloaded the necessary forms from R.I dept. of health for endorsement. I have met all the requirements except one which is the CGFNS (because im a foreign graduate from the Philippines). At first im not sure what CGFNS requirement in particular is needed to be accomplished. I tried to call the Dept. of health but they don't answer phone calls with regards to license issues and will just instruct you to visit their website (im already starting to get anxious honestly). I tried asking some people whom i think is familiar with it and one friend told me that i have to submit a course to course comparison or CES to the department of health. So when i checked the CGFNS website, there are two options which i think pertains to the course-to-course evaluation:The Credentials Evaluation Services and International Services of Delaware. The 4 remaining options are not applicable because i don't intend to apply for a working visa/visa screen or take the CGFNS exam knowing that im already an immigrant. Between the two options, i checked the CES for it is the closest on what the course-to-course evaluation is for. I answered and fill-out all the questions/information needed for this order. Here comes the confusing part: when i got to the printing of application forms, there's this one form that im not quite sure to whom to be submitted. Its the Validation of registration/certification/license.I read all the FAQ's and nothing seem to direct me to whom shall i send it. Is it to the california board of nursing or to the licensing authorities (PRC) in the philippines (because im also a registered nurse there). Im uncertain if i should send it to the philippines because first, Im not applying for a working visa and second, it would take a lot of time for this request to be processed in the philippines knowing that im already here and the transaction will definitely cause me big time (money issues). And i came up with this thinking that why do they need to validate my license in the philippines knowing that my only concern here is the course-to-course evaluation and i already passed the NCLEX RN exam. (I don't know if im making a point here but this is also what my friend told me) I also tried calling the CGFNS to address this matter but unfortunately i was always directed to visit the website and so on and so forth. I told this to a filipino nurse here who also did the same process but she said that she never did submit any validation form to the philippines just merely the request for transcript of records. I can't actual get an accurate information from her because she did this like 4 yrs ago. (ok fine, where do i go from here?!) Im getting really anxious now and everyday im losing the hope that i could transfer my license here. Desperate it may seem but i have no choice but to post it here on allnurses.com.I just wish that a foreign nurse or filipino nurse out there who had or has the same scenario can help me or even direct me to the right steps that i need to follow. I will definitely appreciate any form of help/opinion/suggestion that i can get from my fellow nurses. God bless you all and have a good day!
  3. CONGRATULATIONS, for sure you passed!i also took the nclex rn cali last aug1 and after the test i did the pvt and got the good pop out. I understand how you feel right now because i also had the same emotion while waiting for the official result. Just wait for 3-6 days and you will soon see your name posted. I guarantee you that the pvt works because i can consider myself a living proof of it and other post as well..so just relax and keep your patience high!
  4. ~ hi emjoi! I just want to ask you when did you take the nclex rn for cali? How long did you wait for your official result? I took mine august 1 and honestly i really felt bad when i got out of the testing center. I did the pvt and got a good pop out ( thank God)...now what drives me insane is the release of the official result.

  9. ~ CONGRATS! I can't stop checking the PVT over and over again.
  10. ~ tnx alot.I just hope that my official result will come out soon. Still can't get over this anxiety. Here are the following materials that i used: -SAUNDERS 5th edition. (a big help i can say) - La Charity PDA - NCLEX 10000 - Enrolled in a KAPLAN REVIEW CLASS: QBANKS AND QTs are as close as what the real exam is...the best (both for the appearance and test question approach) - some pdf files that i found here in allnurses.com. ~i will soon post my nclex rn testimonial..that will include my own nclex adventure and some tips that may somehow help those who are currently reviewing for their exam. Godbless to you and goodluck on your studies!:)
  11. I took my nclex rn exam today at 11 am and my computer stopped at 130.i was totally confused and really dont know what to do.i gather all my strength when i got home and did the pvt.i freaked out when i got the good pop out.i tried it like for 20 times and its starting to be an addiction.i took the nclex rn cali exam and just wondering how long do i have to wait for my official result and how reliable is the pvt?tnx.
  12. hi i just took my nclex rn exam this 11:00 am and my computer stopped at 130 questions. I was really nervous and felt that i wanted to answer more. I just came home right now with unexplained emotions. I took the risk of trying the PVT and i was shock that the "good pop out" came out. Is the PVT really true and reliable? i tried it like 10 times and it keeps on giving me the same pop out. Now i can't wait for my official results...i will soon post my nclex story once i receive my official results. ONE BIG ADVICE: study hard~PRAY HARDER...TRUST ME IT REALLY WORKS...
  13. i thought i was the only one who felt that some questions on this book is hard. but i managed to understand the rationales by reading saunders while checking my answers. Many said that this book is really helpful in preparation for the test. Honestly i suck at case study part and i felt depress about it but i was able to get over it. i just said to myself, its better to get mistakes now and learn the right answers than get many mistakes during the test. :). my exam date is fast approaching and i just continue to do my best... ~GOOD LUCK and STUDY WELL!
  14. ~ That's also the reason why i bought it because some reviews say that it is computer adaptive and the questions will be based on your level of mastery (and it will get harder and harder). If you don't mind me asking, what level are you now? I really don't have an idea on how your going to tell if your doing great or not.But one Important thing that i always do is, i really read the rationales even though i got it right. im also using Saunders 5th edition, La Charity, Kaplan (the course book i got when i enrolled) and NCLEX 10,000. I also took a review class with kaplan and its already finished. Ryt now im just taking it easy and not cramming at all because i know it will not help me at all. this week im planning to refresh some of my core contents that i score low and review the important topics to remember that i think will come out of my test (infection control,prioritization/delegation,and most especially my ever favorite pharma...hehehe)if ever you have good stuffs to share, pls do tell me..it will be a great help! Good luck to you and GOD has plans for us...as what i always say to myself, DO YOUR BEST AND GOD WILL DO THE REST!
