Single parent & CRNA school
I am a 25 year old single parent with a 21 month old daughter who is currently a SRNA. While it is difficult, I have found ways to successfully manage school and care for my daughter. I rely heavily on my family for help. They watch my daughter while I am away at school, clinical, or studying. As far as for money, I saved up money prior to beginning anesthesia school. I also took out loans to help me with my expenses. If you have any more questions, send me a personal message. Good Luck to You!!!

What's going to keep you motivated????
The thing that is keeping me motivated during my time in anesthesia school is the fact that I am blessed to have been given this wonderful oppotunity to pursue my dream of becoming a CRNA. It has been very challenging, but keeping this in mind helps me to continue working hard and doing what is necessary to be successful. :)

What's going to keep you motivated????
30andconfused, I am a woman of color and I was offended by what you wrote. It is a shame that you, as a minority, would make generalizations about an entire race, especially against your own race if in fact you are a person of color.

Pregnant
I believe that it is possible for you to be pregnant and go on to school. If you have the support that you need when your baby is born from your husband, parents, friends, etc. you can do it. I will be starting anesthesia school in a couple of weeks and am a mother of a 1 year old. My mother and husband will support me in my endeavor. What is very important in being successful is planning. Talk to other mothers in your program and ask how they balance family and school. Remember, nothing is impossible. There have been others before you in the same sitaution and have been successful. The only thing that will stand in the way of accomplishing your dream is you! :)

New Fall Students: What are you planning to do during these last precious months?
I plan on relaxing and spending a lot of time with my family. I am counting down the weeks until I start, August 23. I will make the most of these last few weeks of freedom.

Stay in MICU or move to SICU?
I agree with everyone else. I came from the MICU and was admitted. :balloons:
