  1. I refuse to be in denial and wait around for a dream job. I guess I'm more of a realist.
  2. @Turd...so funny! CNAs that I know were making $10-19/hr depending on how much experience they had.
  3. Yes, but you must have prior experience.
  4. Yes it does make sense and you should just be happy that you have work. Quit complaining.
  5. Yup, I sure do. Not because I dislike the job, but because there aren't any jobs and it will only get worse. I'm too intelligent to believe the lies about it being a cycle-thing.
  6. Sorry..but I agree with "S"! Unfortunately, med school isn't free and very few of us can afford not to work for 8+ years while we finish schooling..otherwise I would have gone for medical school.
  7. Absolutely. I could KICK myself. I left a 50k desk job to pursue the passion. Although I knew it wasn't such an awesome field, I didn't expect to find out that BSN and MSN grads were still unemployed after 1-2 years of looking. That's as pathetic as it gets. Not even the Business majors that I know have had as much trouble as us.
  8. Has anyone here had luck yet?
  9. I feel exactly the same way! Luckily I don't have any debt...but let's just say my bank account is shrinking at an alarming rate!
  10. No & No. I posted about that actually. If they're lucky, they still have their RN jobs and are being paid as a RN. Otherwise, they're just about as SOL as the rest of us.
  11. Apparently you do because you mentioned it. Speak for yourself. There are still a lot of people out there that think nursing is recession-proof and in demand. Visit the pre-nursing or student forum. I'm finished replying to you. You really don't have anything relevant to offer to this thread. I know for a fact if I was hired/working I wouldn't be wasting my time on an unemployed nurses thread.
  12. I'm a cheerleader of REALITY. There's nothing hostile about my post. If I'm hostile, I guess the entire group of unemployed nurses that replied is also hostile. Are we not allowed to vent? What does it matter to you whether or not someone likes nursing? If you're employed and doing things with your nursing degree, the last place you'd be wasting your time is on an unemployed nurses thread. I never hid anything about my background and I find it funny that you are attempting to use it against me, as though I have some kind of hidden agenda. What in the world do I get out of asking unemployed nurses what their experiences have been like?..and YES, I do find the behavior of MANY nurses to be rather disgusting, vicious, and cruel. I have witnessed many things myself. Does the fact that I'm a brand new LPN make me less credible somehow? If you don't like my opinion and are also bothered by the fact that I make it LOUD and clear that I turned down RN school, then you simply shouldn't read this thread. This thread isn't about lying to people and telling them nursing is this grand, recession-proof, in-demand sort of profession. It's a thread where the unemployed are coming to vent. Didn't you read the title? No hostility..only reality here :).
  13. Sweetheart, if anything, I think you should read this thread first:https://allnurses.com/general-nursing-discussion/unemployed-nurses-530527.html Something just doesn't sit right with me encouraging a pregnant woman to go to nursing school. But regardless, you don't owe it to anyone to tell them you're pregnant.
  14. What do you find so unbelievable? Why does it bother you that I was smart enough to stop after I finished my LPN and reject my acceptance into the RN program? We're talking about unemployed nurses here! If you want to ask me a personal question, private message me. You're nitpicking on a personal decision.
