I understand why people go the LPN route
This is the same reason I did LPN too. I don't regret it at all.

Stomach growling? Are you hungry?
OMG my stomach noises have always been my issue in school. Is so embarrassing especially when I have to take a test. My stomach makes lion noises even after I eat 24/7. I get anxious and I have to rush through my exams because of my stomach..I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one...lol

Graduated from The Center for Allied Health & Nursing Education Tampa
Thanks for all the information. I decided not to go to CAN for my RN. I have all my prereqs and as you said they won't take them. I'm looking to get in to Rasmussen. I have to take the TEAS in December. They told me they will take 74 of my credits all I have to complete is 44 more credits. I started working as a LPN and not knowing my schedule will be an issue. Every time I asked them about the schedule they couldn't give me a straight answer. With Rasmussen there's no Friday class. Sorry you wasted your time and money. Do you know where you are going to attend?

Everest or Rasmussen RN Program?
I thought Rasmussen was regionally acredited. I did took the TEAS and got an overall score of 67% at PHCC but I'm not sure if I can use that score or I would have to retake it. I took it a year ago.

Everest or Rasmussen RN Program?
I'm also applying to Rasmussen in Tampa. I just scheduled to take the TEAS in December 14 so that should give me enough time to study. I don't have to take the step test so I just need to focus on the TEAS. I have taken the TEAS twice a few years ago and failed. I have all my per req completed and I'm also an LPN. Classes start in April 2013. For Rasmussen we are only allow to take the TEAS once per year. So if I don't pass in December I have next year to try again but I'm positive That I will pass. I would appreciate any suggestions.

How far do you travel to get to work?
I'm a new LPN and just took a job 40 miles from my home. It takes me about 1 hr to get to work and back. Being a new nurse is hard to find a job so I won't complain..I'm just happy I got a job.

Got a job working as a LPN Triage!
They were looking for a full time nurse and I emailed them telling them that I was interested but was going to attend school and could only work weekends. I thought they wouldn't be interested but they emailed me back 5 hours later and told me that would be fine and gave me an interview the next day and hired me on the spot...I been smiling since then..

I took my PN NCLEX 2 weeks ago and the trick works. It did not let me register and I passed. My classmates have been doing the trick and they had passed too. I believe in the trick 100%. If is letting you register most likely you failed. I'm sorry

I take my NCLEX PN today !!!!
Thanks, I finished in 1 hour and completed 90 questions. I had a lot of SATA, which had me really nervous. There were a few meds questions that I had never heard before. There were some OB and Peds questions. I had like 4 calculation questions. I studied the Kaplan book, which was excellent! In addition, I answered about 100 questions a day from the saunder CD... I have to say, I have no idea how I passed it but I was thrilled and crying when I saw the good pop up !

shoes for clinicals?
I used the white Danskos. They are expensive but are the best most comfortable shoes there is for nursing. They are durable and worth it. Make sure you purchase a size bigger. You have to get used to them. I started wearing them when I had class all day and then I started using them for clinicals.

NCLEX PN is driving me crazy!
Stay positive you can do this. I'm studying for the NCLEX too. I have to pay the fee next week and mail my application. I want to take it within a month or two. I want to read the whole Saunder book and practice as many questions as I can from the CD. I want to make sure I'm ready before taking it.

Pharmacology was the hardest class for me. I had *** teaching it and she was really good. On the 3rd qrt Each class is 4 weeks and is very intense. I had no life...but the 4th qrt was the best, it was more of a review and things started to make sense. Hang in there Nursing Pride, time will fly by really fast after the second qrt..

Allied Health Nursing Education in Tampa 2011 LPN Class
IBlake907, Allied is $19,000 for the program. It includes the books, uniform and other fees. I tried taking the TEAS twice and failed at Erwin and decided to tried the Allied school. I'm glad I did because the entrance exam was way easier than the TEAS.

Allied Health Nursing Education in Tampa 2011 LPN Class
FL_frauline Thanks for your information. Good luck on the exit exam.. Let me know how it goes. I went for my interview and it went well. Then I went to financial aid and I will be taking a loan of $14,000. I tried some of their uniform and ordered the right size. They also took a picture with the uniform for my school id...I felt like I was accepted already. lol They told me I should be hearing from them within a week. Are you going to look for a job as a LPN or are you are planning to continue for the RN? Are currently working? I worry it will be hard to find a job as a new grad.
