ADN to BSN is it worth it?
So I graduated an ADN program in dec 2022 and became a legit RN 2/16/23. I told myself I would take a yr off from school before pursuing anything else. Well here we are its been an entire year... I'm currently a staff nurse at a local hospital on the MST floor...truth be told I am not a huge fan but its a job I guess... anyway, I got accepted to a RN to BSN with MSN option but the paper they sent says avg pay is like 74k, I make way more than that... so I am curious to know if the move from RN to BSN was a substantial increase in pay or no?

Yes I'm worried as well, I blew off cal state sb because wgu was perfect for me to continue working... I am really regretting that decision. I am even looking at reeling it back and going private just to get it done. California is ridiculous.

April 2018 California Cohort
Hey.. yes I have been involved in hospital care, home care post acute and sub acute care... I have an associates in Science/math which basically says I can transfer to a 4 year college. I see you are an emt that's awesome!!! Considering you have a bachelors have u looked into accelerated BSN programs? Azusa offers one but there might be others.... what is your bachelors in? I am thinking of retaking micro with straighterline to boost my gpa... unfortunately they won't consider human nutrition since it's a core class

EEK the second week of Feb that is next week right? I originally applied for Feb cohort but unfortunately didn't make it so I am applying for this cohort...otherwise it could be Aug. My Science GPA isn't as high as the avg... and my Teas score was an 84 and the cut off was a bit higher... my advisor sent these stats... our February cohort: Overall TEAS Average: 86.91% TEAS Reading Section Average: 91.56% Health Science GPA 3.60 Ugh!

Enrollment Counselor not responding
Try emailing them again...my counselor is in/out of the office alot...but I email her again if I don't hear from her after 3 days... I can understand your frustration with the lack of phone calls though...especially if you have a set appointment.

February 2018 California cohort
I know that holding a degree, license, experience increases your chances of being chosen but I don't think its the only thing... Have you been in touch with an enrollment counselor? Where in Cali are you?

Wgu prelicensure August 2017 California cohort
Hi I applied for the Feb 2018 cohort...I'm still waiting to hear back from WGU and this is my first time applying. My letter of intent basically said why I chose their program and how I came to the decision to go into nursing. How about yourself? I'm anxiously waiting on pins and needles....My advisor said early Dec.

Med/surg CNA (days)
That's what I thought too at the convalescence home I worked at we had about 16-20 at night. But surely it can't be as many considering we have to keep a watchful eye on them. I'm wondering if they told me this to test me? Like would I shy away from a heavy run? Am I a slacker? Gotta admit it would be a pretty big test lol

Med/surg CNA (days)
So I received my CNA cert in Aug 2014, worked at a convalescence home for approximately 7 months ( that place nearly broke me) and have been fortunate to work at a 6 bed congregate sub acute facility for the past 16 months. I recently took a job at a local hospital in the med/sug dept who is willing to work around my school schedule which starts in Feb. best of all its ft with benefits and it's day shift 12hr So I'm alittle nervous because during the interview they asked the whole do you have any questions and well I asked on a bad day how many patients is one CNA assigned they said on a good day 28 bad day could be as many as 40 😳. So ladies and gents give it to me straight what am I up against? lol I did take the acute care class with clinicals but it was really slow. I also don't remember the CNAs being slammed.
