  1. CONGRATS! One day down the road I will be able to say the same!
  2. I am switching from the Mortgage Industry. I wish us all much success!
  3. I have applied for the UMC PCT Training in March as well! I understand your frustration. =(
  4. I'm not sure if you are in Tucson, but from what I have heard...UMC works with nursing students and Pharmacy students schedules...You may want to look into that.
  5. I purchased the same Gray's coloring book for my BIO/201 class and this helped with all the memorization we had!

Thanks so much Sassiebaz...Yes, you are right. Every road does lead to a different direction. I just with they came easier...but, I usppose if they did, the end result wouldnt feel the same. Shoot, what questions do you have...My prior history was in insurance, now I am in the mortgage industry.
  7. I agree w/student4life...it's better to take them than to not make it into the Nursing Program or even fall behind by the lack or should-a-would-a-could-a I was in the same boat and as much as I dream of Nursing one day and wish it would happen RIGHT NOW....I keep telling myself all in due time.
  8. Just want I wanted...Emergency! 1. Emergency Med 2. Anesthesiology 3. Allergy & immunology 4. Gastroenterology
  9. I have enjoyed reading the pro's and con's as wel. Personally for myself I work full time and have a little one at home. Mixing in all those classes at once would have me left bald! Since I am not in a hurry I plan to space each class out per semester. Will take me longer, but hopefully this go around will be successful.
  10. Crayons & Elkpark, I am in the same boat - I finished my Undergrad degree in Business Management in 09' and now can not qualify for the PELL/PEG grants... The online searches seem fake...Let me know what you end up finding out. I'd be intrested to know. I am currently paying out of pocket to not rack up any more debt until I need to..
  11. ADN? I was planning on the BSN for sure. Once i am done with my pre/reqs & I apply I'd really like to actually start working in the field...even if it is pt or less than pt.... I have a friend who's wife had no prior experience, just finish Nursing school, passed her NCLEX and has been looking for work here in AZ for over 6 months. No one will hire her....
  12. Thanks for the advice. This is what I had thought as well. Always nice to have an outsiders opinion. Sounds like I need to stick it out for a bit longer and stock away some savings for when the paycut hits for an actual hospital/home health care facility. Keri
  13. So...need some friend advice from my fellow Nurses & soon to be Nurses. . . I have been in the mtg industry for almost 10 years now, give or take either insurance or mortgage. I have my Undergrad degree in Business/Marketing... Late last year, I decided on a career change...Flight Nursing (down the road of course) I have Bio/201 & 202 and Chem still left to do at Pima Community College...all while still working full time. I feel I am burnt out with this business and being in school makes me want to work within the industry even more. Now, with the recent career change I want to do, I've been looking and sending off resumes to hospitals, care homes etc. I just got a call from a Dermatologist company so, i plan on calling back around lunch time to see if they would like to meet etc...only thing is I know I'll have to take a huge pay cut leaving this business. Just to give you an example, my bonus checks are twice as large as my nice size normal check. UGH. I probably make more now than I would starting off in Nursing. Am I crazy to want to make the change? I know I have to be able to financially be able to do this...but is a derm office the way to go - least for now, should they even be willing to hire me? I just dont want to make an irrational decsion. Thanks all in advance.

  15. I have looked into this as well. The last time I checked the UofA Pathway Program it was just for a BSN degree. Do you know if the Master's program will offer a 3 year work contract to have your school paid for? I know the BSN 15-18? mo program offered this.
