  1. Congrats to everyone!! I remember feeling scared and excited at the same time! Let me know if you have any questions!!! Congrats!
  2. Hey everyone! Great job today! The next hard thing to do is....wait.... I hope we did everything to help y'all with your interview today! I was glad to meet some of y'all! I wish y'all the best! PM me if you have questions! Also, if after you are accepted, I am selling my books. Some books you will need a new code but you can always contact the publisher for a new code. PM me if you are interested in books after you are accepted and the list is updated.
  3. Hey everyone, Don't worry about the computer interview. It's a test to see if you are computer literate since this program is half in class and half online. You have to know your way around a computer and be able to answer the prompt. I don't know what the prompt is but you all have experience with life; I'm sure y'all can write about it. I was in your shoes last year! Nervous and I was sick too! During Dean T's intro and speeches, I kept coughing and sneezing! I sounded awful! Make sure you rest up and don't stress over Thanksgiving! I know this sounds easier than executable, but try! Do your best and be yourself. Anyone have a question, just PM me if you can't ask on here!!!
  4. Check Craigslist!
  5. Hey everyone! I am also in the Graduating class of 2011! Aret21 and Jeanster are my study buddies in nursing school and we have been through it all together! Don't stress too much about the interview. Make sure you interact with each other and come prepared! Be professional and wear professional clothing! Please please...no jeans!!! Also, bring copies of all the stuff you have submitted! We were all required to bring our Finger-Print card last year! Not sure if you need it this year. So make sure you bring all your papers with you just in case they need it! Please don't be late! Check the time and be there at least 30 mins. early. Do a practice drive to the campus and see what it is like and how long it will take you to get there! The interview is definitely the Monday after Thanksgiving. Remember, our class is the third cohort that will be graduating! So there may be some kinks that the school has to work out but you have to be patient! No great nursing school is built in a day! It's all about how much effort and work you put into your studies. As of right now, the faculty and staff are reviewing over the applications and most likely will invite 100 ppl or so to come to the interview! I can not stress the importance of being early! When you are early, they will notice! The faculty wants students who follow directions and are coming in with open minds, ready to learn! If y'all have any questions, just let anyone of us know! We were in your shoes last year and remember feeling the same anxiety. It will fly by!!! Good-luck!
  6. Hi, UHV in sugarland offers a RN to BSN track.
  7. I am currently in the 2nd degree BSN program at UHV. It's a one year program for those who have a degree already. Its tough but a good program! If you want to talk to an advisor, Kaci Pullin is the one to go to. There is an info session in Aug. You should attend!

  16. Me too! I really like the Dean! She is super cool!
  17. I'm nervous about tomorrow! Good luck everyone!
  18. Hi, Thanks for all the info. Do you remember how much you paid for the books? Also, TNSA sells the patches and name tags too, but is it more costly to buy from them than from the bookstore? I don't remember if TWU Houston has a book store or not. Thanks!
  19. Hi Mrsaggie, I'm not sure what I would do. Right now, I have an opportunity to interview at UHV for the one year track...I've heard good things about UHV and excellent things about TWU. TWU has a pretty high pass rate and UHV just started its program but the students who are attending there really enjoys the program. I'm a little concerned about the thoughts of the students of this program. So, I'm not sure whats going to happen yet. We will will see! Good luck!! I will keep you posted!
  20. Congrats!!!! Still nothing for me :-(
  21. Hey, I interviewed the same day. I havent heard back from UTMB yet. I'm still "pending". But I did get accepted into the TWU 2 year program in Houston and will be interviewing at UHV at the end of this month for their one yr track. So don't lose hope! One door closes and 2 more will open for ya'll!!!
  22. Hi Jeanster, I do agree with you the pass rate is very important. However UHV hasn't been around that long to have a good enough pass rate for us to compare with. If we must compare, we should compare between two schools that were established about the same time, i.e. TWU with UTHSC or UHV with Texas A&M. I'm torn between the two schools also, TWU (2 yrs) vs UHV (1). Obviously we want to finish quicker to start our new life....but so many pros and cons. Some of my Pros and Cons: 1. Pro: I actually live in the Med Center area so the commute to TWU is by Metro Con: Cinco Ranch/Sugarland are both over 30 mins away from me. 2. Pro: UHV is one yr intensed program Con: TWU is two years 3. Pro: TWU has summer break Con: UHV: 20 hrs of class/lab/clinical time All-in-all....I'm still torned. But I guess we would have to see after the interview at UHV. We could be worried for nothing or for something (for those lucky few). But I still am going to the interview then I will decide then. Good Luck to everyone!
