  1. University of Phoenix MSN Program

joyncaring I'm 2/3 of the way through the program at this point, hoping to finish about a year from now. The program isn't bad, but the group projects are, in my opinion, overly time consuming and unnecessary. There are 2-3 group projects per class, ...
  2. University of Phoenix MSN program NUR590 Practicum

It's been a while since anyone posted here. I'd really like to hear from some current UoP students who have recently completed 590A&B. What were your topics? How did you and your mentor decide what you would do? Thanks for the help.
  3. Which online RN to BSN program, while working FT?

I successfully completed the on line Chamberlain RN-BSN program while working full time. It took me a little over 2 years. I'm a diploma grad with a BA in a non-nursing field, so I had to do 6 general education courses. I survived and graduated about...
  4. CarolRN I started at Chamberlain for the BSN in Sept 2008--I was 56 at the time, and had a lap chole the same day class started. I graduated October 2010 with GPA 3.93. You can do it!
  5. Press Ganey Parody

That was hysterical! But a parody? I though it was reality!
  6. University of Phoenix MSN Program

I just started the MSN/Informatics program at UoP. I really want to do this program, but administration at UoP is making it very difficult. I'm told one story in the AM, the opposite in the PM and another the next day. I have complained to the Financ...
  7. Walden University BEWARE

I had a similar experience with Walden in 2007. I had to explain poor grades dating from the 1970's. I've had an RN license since 1974, so what's the big deal? Also an excellent professional resume, which included a cum laude BA and graduate degree i...
  8. I graduated October 24! Thanks to everybody here for all the help. And good luck to those continuing in the program.
  9. I did obesity for mine. Ties in nicely with diabetes.
  10. You're welcome! You can send me a private message with your email and I'll send it as a .pdf attachment. Since it's Saturday, I'm in and out of the house doing errands. I'll leave the computer on, so I'll know as soon as you send the PM.
  11. The next session starts on 7/5/10. I'd say you might be able to get everything ready by then, if your transcripts are readily available. Good luck! I started the program in Sept 2008. I only take 1 course at a time. Getting ready to graduate Oct. 201...
  12. This morning, I was clearing out my old (back to when I started in 2008) emails from Chamberlain. I found a .pdf file of several pages from Miller's book. I can email them to you if you want.
  13. Did you check the Chamberlain on line library? I think that's where I found it. There's a way to contact the on line librarian if you're having trouble finding the book. When is the paper due? Since it's the weekend, I'm not sure if the librarians ar...
  14. Have you checked the online library? Or medline? I took that course in Sept 2008--the first one I took at Chamberlain. I, too, wrote about Miller's Power Resources. For the life of me, I can't remember what I did about that paper--hold on, I've got a...
  15. Online RN-BSN programs

I'm getting my BSN with Chamberlain. I started Sept. 2008, and I'll finish Oct 2010, little over 2 years. I wanted to do only one course at a time, so that's why it's taken so long. Chamberlain staff is wonderful! The program is totally on line, no c...
  16. Econ finished my 4.0 also. I ended up with a B, just missed the A by about 1/2 point. The final was easier than the midterm. Statistics was no picnic either. Don't know how I managed to even pass.
  17. How long does the paper have to be? And what other requirements are there? I'm currently in case management, but have done a lot of home care/community health stuff in the past.
  18. I'll be starting Community Health on 4/26. Can anybody tell me what it's like? Thanks.
  19. I found the Economics mid-term to be much harder than the final. I ended up with a B for the course, missed the A by about half a point, due to my mid-term grade.
  20. For the statistics course, pay close attention to Brent's Sunday night lectures. They're recorded and you can listen to them at any time. If it weren't for them, I never would have passed. I got an "A" in the course. Listen to Brent and you'll get on...
  21. Post-bariatric surgery nightmare!

This person needs to follow up with a PCP who is familiar with bariatric surgery. There are documented incidences of bariatric patients substituting other addictions for the former food addition. In addition, severe vitamin and mineral deficiencies, ...
  22. I was a French Lit major in an earlier life, but the citation stuff drove me nuts. That was back in the typewriter days. Glad I've got the template now--and Word 2007!
  23. lunahrn I took Assessment about a year ago. You're right, there's a paper due every week. However, I'm fairly talented in that area. Have you tried a template to deal with the citations? I can show you where to get one if you need it.
  24. wyndrivenrain-- I'm slogging through statistics myself. I actually understand some of it. The Sunday evening lectures and template downloads help a lot. I'll be taking informatics in Jan 2010. What are the course requirements? Thanks.
  25. Bariatric Surgery-Need Advice

Have you considered the duodenal switch? The cure tate for diabetes post DS is 98%. I had a DS in 2001, went from 304 lbs to 153. I wasn't diabetic, but I come from a diabetic family. My BP is now too low at times, my cholesterol is 95. The post op D...
