Hello! What are the duties and responsibilities / routine work during Days shift /Night shift in Postpartum Unit? What skills do I need to learn? Aside from PIH patient, what other patients do you have on the floor? What stress do you always encounter? I am a Med-Surg nurse and plans to work on Postpartum unit. Hello...I love reading the posts.I'm a Med-Surg nurse for 3 years and want to work in Psychiatric floor. What are the advantages and disadvantages working in Psych ward? What are the routines during day and night shift. Is it less stressful compared to MS ward? I need some advice please. Thank you very much!

We're almost on the same age bracket and I believe we have the same mind,too:p I just read the email from the human resources recruitment specialist and informed me that the Nurse Manager is looking for several part time nurses to work on the postpartum unit and only 1 full time position available. I will let you know what will happen next... Any suggestions from our colleagues who works as a Fulltime nurse?

Hi Lady Jezebel! congratulations! Why not try and ask your family doctor to give you a medical letter informing the Occupational health that you are pregnant and need to have work modification? That's what I did when I was pregnant. But I really need to leave the floor on my 3rd month because of some complication. I also worked at medical Surgical floor and you know what I mean. Take care of yourself , take a rest if you have to,and just let your colleagues know that you are pregnant so you have support. God bless you!

Hello! I'm also new to the board! But I have some idea on part time course for RPN. There is Flexible part time RPN course at Centennial College. The flexible model route is 3 days per week, three semesters per year and availability is dependent on demand. My husband is also planning to take RPN course and this is what we have research.
