  1. Hi everyone Just a quick question. Does everyone who pass the exam pay to look up for unofficial results at Pearson VUE? I mean, is it really matter if you pass and don't look it up?
  2. Have you checked your results on the board of nursing you registered with? I worte mine on Tus. and still has no result but my account in the nursing board says I am passed.
  3. Yes! It was a pass with 75 questions! Pearson has no updated the results yet the the board if nursing has a passed in my record. Good luck everyone
  4. I won't be a good person yet to give advise since still waiting for my results. But if I passed I'll be more than happy to put something here for you.
  5. But how that's possible that the system fail with 75 questions when the exam can be 265 questions in total? Doesn't it mean that one is below average so the system recognize it and won't let do further?
  6. Can people actually fail on 75 questions?
  7. Hello everyone I had my first try today and got 75 questions plus survey. Does it mean it's a pass?
  8. whatshouldido I was unsuccessful in June, 2010 CRNE and failed by one mark while left the exam not being able to finish it completely. So I can talk to you from my experience. All the cues are given here by these nice people are valuable, indeed and I just want to add a few more things that hopefully help. I do agree wit anything that helps you with strategies to tackle the exam; anything from Kaplan to advises here. Just remember that if you're going to use Kaplan strategy, only focus on exam taking part. Preparing yourself with an American prep guide for Canadian exam is like shooting yourself in the foot. One of the factors that made me actually fail beside time management in my first attempt was that I though any prep guide would help and started very details study like what you see in Kaplan. If you're going to use Kaplan decision making tree in CRNE, you need to be very good at it and very quick. The time pressure in CRNE is much higher than NCLEX, in my opinion. And do questions questions and questions without going into too much of details. And if you really struggle with contents, read them right away while going through the rationals. And as everyone says here: be positive and do not lose hope. Remind yourself everyday that you CAN do this. And you will. Good luck
  9. Hello everyone Anyone here used Lippintott's Review for NCLEX-RN or heard anything about using it? I use Kapln Qbank and Lippincott's as the sources for my Questions training and just wondering whether it's a good source to stick with. Thanks for any info.
  10. Thank you for your time and effort putting all these together. It's very helpful.
  11. Congrads. What resources you used and which one you think really helped you if you don't mind me ask?
  12. Hi Winnie How was your experience in last exams you had? What you think you should have or you should focused more? This is my first time writing it. I'm a practicing Rn in Canada and our exam is completely different from NCLEX. Good luck studying.
  13. Hello everyone I'm writing mine on Aug. 30. Great to see a support group here.
  14. What is ATI questions sweetanel3? People here get sooo excited that they don't answer the questions!!! I'm happy for them.
  15. Hello everyone Just a quick question for anyone who can answer. Have you guys found Hurst prep book useful for the exam? I'm working on it and first thing I notice is that the questions are not challenging and also it covers some concepts that are not in other prep books like case management/~er responsibilities and so on.. Any thoughts?
  16. Hello everyone I hope the study is going well for all. I've just had a quick question here for anyone who can answer. I'm a Canadian graduate Rn, currently practice in Canada and planing to write my NCLEX. When I wrote my RN in exam in Canada, believe it or not, the questions I got in the exam were nothing even close to what I prepared myself for according to study guides. We got A LOT of questions on community and health promotion stuff. Now that I'm preparing myself for NCLEX, I'm wondering if any one knows who in detail it's going to be. I use Kaplan and Saunders for now. Thanks everyone and good luck studying.
  17. You may also want to try online tests on CNA website when you get closer to your exam. Couple of little notes on watermelonecand's post regarding sources. I think and that's only my opinion that the Lippincot is valuable source for the exam specially when it comes to nurses-client partnership and professional responsibilities. The book provides at least 200 multiple choices on each sections which is more than other sources in total. When you read the Mosby's comprehensive please do not hooked on little details. You'll get WAY more information in the book that you need. To pass your CRNE you need to know your biology and patho but they'll never ask you a question on that. It's more about how you think in different settings such as acute care, community care, etc.
  18. Crystalpearl I don't live in Toronto and I'm in BC but will be more than happy if I can be any help. When I was preparing for the exam, however, I came across preparation course in Toronto School of Health. I personally didn't take any course but I would have if it was offered where I live. I try to private message you as I noticed you are new to the site. Cheers
  19. Congrats guys...
  20. Agree with Nurses matter. Contact CRNBC instead of relying of word of mouth. They are usually good at assisting their members/exam Candidates. I don't think, however if there's specific conditions put for taking third attempts but as nurses matter said, you need to inform your manager if you work and fill in a form (sorry if forgot what it's called but it might be professional r responsibilities or goals) by you and your manager.
  21. Sukhi777 Do not quote me but when I was in Vancouver writing my second try, I met a girl who was writing her 4th and she told me that you just need to request. My advise to you would be what I've done and got result. When I wrote mind last June and couldn't pass, I could have write it in Oct. 2010 but I simply realized there was not time to study with the workload I had. So scheduled my exam for Feb 2011, I gave myself a good 5 moths to study and that worked in my case. I kept doing exams and reviewing the area of my weakness such as time management. The rest was easy. Give yourself plenty of time. If you are not able to study at least 2 hours a night for 2 months, I recommend to consider rescheduling. That's my experience. Also stay positive. Your attitude make whole difference when you right these kind of exams. And don't be shy asking for help. Good luck.
  22. Awesome news...wish the same for the rest... Good luck to your carrier.
  23. Samra Not a single strategy work for everyone. I encourage you to read other threads to find out more about the experience of successful candidates as well as unsuccessful ones. CRNE is a serious exam specially if you speak English as a second language. I received my education here, had good marks through four years of my education and had a 87% in my muck exam we had at the end of our fourth year. We were told that if we passed that exam, we would pass the CRNE. Needless to say that I failed my first attempt by one mark only because wasn't able to finish the whole test, and rushed into decisions. There is a big focus on community nursing( which I'm personally not agree with that focus) but it is what it is. Read through the threads and find out what you need to improve. When I was preparing on my second attempt my focus was finishing the exam on time. And I did it. So be focus on your study and strategies you take. And let me know if you needed more help. You'll find a lot of people here willing to help. Cheers
  24. The first and foremost action you want to do when a pt is seizing is to keep to the pt. safe. What we do in our emergency department I work is to lower the head of the bed and put the pt in his side or rescue position to keep the air entry open. One thing I found that we as nurses sometimes forget with pt who come with Dx of seizure is IV. Only because the pt is stable, talky walky when they come in doesn't mean they don't need an IV. If the pt started having status epileptius there's no way you can get an IV. And what we usually give to pt in these situation is Lorazepam IV. Any other thoughts on that?
