  1. Hello Felicia I did look into Dorthea Hopfer but I need a school that's NLN accredited due to my employer.....so my choices are limited.
  2. Felicia327, Thanks for responding. I actually have taken everything and right now i am taking classes just to take credits. I've done EVERYTHING including all my bio's, 2 eng, 2 pysch, I even taken nutrition but so far no answer. I call the nursing dept every now and then to see if they have sent out any letters and they keep saying "not yet". so I'll just sit here and wait. Keep us posted as to how the program is. I know it requires A LOT of reading so don't ever fall behind ......good luck !!!!
  3. Hello Felicia327, I am currently waiting on a response from the nursing dept. i applied this fall. can you tell me how long before you got accepted. and are these rumors true. you can email me private if you like. thanks
  4. hello, well i took a&p i during a summer session (6 short weeks) and got an a, and i took a&p ii during a regular fall semester and struggled for a c. this was a few years ago and i have decided to retake a&p ii this spring. i feel that it has a lot to do with the professor. for example in a&p i i had the same professor for lab and lecture and for a&p ii i had different professors for lab and lecture, and this was sometimes confusing. so this time i am taking a&p ii with the same professor for lab and lecture....... lets see how it goes. good luck to everyone
  5. congratulations !!!!!!! :smiley_aa :yelclap: :w00t: :roll:roll:roll:roll:roll :roll:roll:roll:roll:roll
  6. It seems to me that you are applying to the RN program without any science classes, unless I am not reading your post correctly. The schools that I have attended to require that you take at LEAST API before applying. I would suggest taking API and then applying to both the RN & LPN and take if from there. Good luck on your decision;)
  7. Attended BMCC transferred to BCC ...starting the LPN program this fall....hope to finish next fall and bridge to RN (fingers crossed)
  8. Thank you ~!!!! I will definetly stick around... I'll need pointers and direction:lol2: :lol2: Good luck to all of us starting the program I am going to see if I can handle it, but I may have to cut my hours. I have to say I have been blessed because my boss is a doctor and he knows how hard school can be especially if your working and he told me to do what I can. So with respect to work, I can probably cut some hours, but unfortunately I HAVE TO WORK. Thanks for your input it is very much appreciated. I'll let you know how I am handling it as I go along.
  9. Thank you very much for responding.... I am so excited ... I can't wait til' september.
  10. I feel if you have done well with the evening program you should continue with that schedule. Don't fix whats not broken. Its okay to take an extra year, its worth it. You can do your program stress free. I am also taking the long route when I originally was trying for the RN program but it turns out that I will have to take the LPN route then bridge, this will add an additional year to my school adventure/experience/stress but in the end it will be all worth it. I have a friend who was attending an evening program - not nurse related- and she decided to attend the day program and she did horrible. She has small children and of course when they would get a little cold here and there, she would have to take them during the day to the doctors, and all of the other appointments are usually during the day, so ended up missing classes and wham she ended the semester with very poor grades, and we are talking about a straight A student here. I don't know what your support system is during the day, but if you are doing well and managing during the night, I would just leave it at is. IMHO. Good luck with your decision
  11. well...... i will be lingering around here more & more since i am officially an lpn student coming this fall any tips on what to expect? my program will meet 3 x a week/ saturdays (clinical). it will run for 1 year including the summer, so if all goes well i should be graduating fall 07'. whew i am so excited and nervous at the same time. i have a question ....is working 40 hours a week doable? thanks all !!!
  12. Thank you for responding I am officially an LPN student. I enrolled today and I feel good and I am excited about starting in the fall. Now I have to get my physical and my CPR certificate and I will have orientation Aug 14 I am hearing from alot of LPN students that it is better to get some experience before diving into the RN, so all in all I am happy. I'll take my journey one day at a time. But right now I am excited and nervous :w00t: Now off to bed I go... I start summer class tomorrow (A&P II)
  13. Thanks for responding:mad: Did you have to have a certain average to continue to the RN program? In my school I think you have to maintain an 80% to continue directly into the RN if not you have to work for one year as an LPN and then apply for the RN. Another problem that I am having is that I earn as much as an LPN earns and I just sit behind a desk and type. That is why I want so much to be nurse because my job is not rewarding AT ALL!!! but then again I don't want to bust my butt, get stressed out, feel overworked and bring home the same salary that i bring NOW..... although salary should not be my main concern, I don't want to go home feeling overworked and underpaid.... hope you get my point.... I'm sort of rambling :lol2:
