  1. HIII EVERYBODY! After 1.5 hrs and 75 questions later, I GOT THE GOOD POP UP!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed :$
  2. HI, I've been getting confused with the order of the cane, affected, and unaffected leg for cane walking on a level surface. Can someone please clarify? I know you hold the cane in your strong hand, then do you step with your strong leg, then weak leg? -studykittycleo
  3. Tomorrow's the day! Wish me luck everybody! :)
  4. CONGRATS TO ALL THOSE WHO PASSED!! I take mine in 2 days !!

  7. November09, I listened to the videos and filled in all the notes that came with the online package. I go back here and there for some clarifications but i haven't been focusing on hurst after my 1st attempt of taking nclex. this time, i'm purely going by kaplan- i feel like the kaplan style questions are similar to nclex.. i'm using the blue saunders book for content and i'm going to try to do most of LaCharity during this week. i was tempted to reschedule as well, but i've worked at this over a month and i think i feel prepared enough. i've really tried to focus on understanding the rationales so i've only completed around 1,500 questions. will we ever know for sure if we're completely ready? probably not... but i'm gona go for it! good luck studying!! studykittycleo
  8. wow jbreezyRN. i feel like you read my mind! i really feel like i'm missing a lot of the lower level content as you mentioned. i don't want to change my study plan at the last minute so i'm going to stick what i've been doing. i'm also going to watch the kaplan videos that come with the course, review all the qbanks that i did AGAIN, review saunders for extra content help, do some lacharity, and go over meds. HOW DID YOU STUDY MEDS?? People say study it in classifications- which source is best for studying meds? THANKS FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT!! studykittycleo,
  9. i'm worried because i only did about 1,500 questions and it's because it took me so long to go over the rationales. alot of people here did 2000, 3000 even 4000+.
  10. hi november09, i'm taking mine on the 14th and i'm also taking mine for the 2nd time. i also did hurst review online, and it was a great way to learn content, but i dont think it prepared for the higher level difficulty questions. i took kaplan the 2nd time and i'm hoping it helps. i've been doing questions and i've written out all the rationales ... we only have 1 week left! let's push through this! wishing you all the best! studykittycleo
  11. Thank you for the advice!! Question, I'm a little torn. I have Question Trainer 6 & 7 left.. I'm 90% done with my qbank, and I have 1 week left before i take my boards. Most of my content review came from just reviewing the rationales (I wrote down all the ones i DID and DID NOT understand, and I have written 2 notebooks filled with rationales and always go back to review them), but from what I see here, a lot of people read Saunders from cover to cover. SHould I push back the test and give myself more time to review? I feel like I'm ready but at the same time, what if I'm not? Any advice?
  12. gold2010. tell me about it. you sit down, you tell yourself you have to do a certain amount of questions or at least do a certain amount of content review... and when you actually try to concentrate, it's so hard to sit for more than 30 minutes to do question after question! i think its a big mental thing... you just have to tell yourself you need to this for your success. NO PAIN NO GAIN! i feel like i'm going through nursing school all over again. UGH! i'm actually doing questions right now. BACK TO MORE QUESTIONS!
  13. hi gold2010, i would love to join this group. taking my test 9/14 for the second time and could use the support. good luck to everyone taking nclex.. i did kaplan the 2nd time and referring back to saunders for content review. i tried hurst review online for the first time... it was good for content, but did not prepare me enough for the harder level questions. i'm PRAYING kaplan helps me pass!! i've been doing 52~74 on qbank, and my readiness score is 65, but these numbers aren't doing me enough justice! god bless all future nurses. we can do it!
  14. I am scheduled to take the NCLEX 9/14. Took it in July and found out I did not pass, but i believe I was not prepared for it because the NCLEX questions were completely different from exams from nursing school and the HESI exit exam. Took KAPLAN review course beginning of august and have been studying ever since... my qbank scores range from 54~74. I noticed a gradual increase in my qtrainer as well as my qbank scores. Diagnostic: 59, QT 1: 63, QT 2: 59, QT 3: 56, QT 4: 63, QT 5: 67. I've been writing down all the questions & rationales of the questions i got wrong. I refer back to these notes and they have been helpful learning tools. I am SCARED TO DEATH... I have a job lined up and I can't believe i blew it the 1st time. i have exactly a week left to prepare myself... I need something to tell myself that I'm going to pass. I WANT TO BE AN RN MORE THAN ANYTHING!!! It's so frustrating because you go through all the work of going through nursing school, finally graduate, then theres ONE MORE MOUNTAIN to climb over... and you know you're so close you can feel it....
  15. KRN 2010, Would you please be kind as to share your notes? [email protected] THANK YOU!!
  16. Congrats to you JBREEZY RN! I'm sorta new to this forum, but I've seen how supportive everyone is and it really helps me get motivated to study hard and pass. I'm taking NCLEX for the 2nd time in two weeks... lot of pressure because I have a job waiting for me. I did Kaplan live for this time and I'm hoping it helps! :$ Happy Studying Everyone!
  17. marcos9999, i think you give some good pointers.. i took nclex on saturday 7/17 1st time and found out i failed. i think it's really a matter of how much effort you put into it.. i didn't take it seriously enough and it was a distraction knowing that all your fellow classmates were passing. do yourself a favor and focus on yourself. i only told myself i was going to do 3000 questions + but i got burnt out and told myself, well I passed my exit exam so I could probably pass this. WRONG!! i'm going to take it the 2nd time in a different light. i didn't go through 4 years of nursing school to be a failure. no way. for those of you who are like me and really need to push yourself... please do yourself a favor and DO IT. worst part is, i have a job lined up and now i have to tell my manager that i failed. i'm just hoping she gives me another chance to take it- and this time, i'm not looking back.
