I was originally going to have to wait until March to take a CNA course through our community college because nobody else was giving the class. I found out today that a local LTC facility is offering the class and I was wondering which looks better on an application or does it really matter? The LTC facility is about $250 cheaper then the community college and I wouldn't have a 30 minute drive to get to class like I would with the community college. I would ultimately like to work in a hospital, not a nursing home. Our local hospital has several positions availiable and pay much better. So in the end does it really matter, anyone train at a LTC facility then get a job at the hospital?

Insurance through my husbands work costs us about $50/month for a family of four for medical, dental, vision. It costs his work around $900/month to cover us. Through Regence Blue Cross. $150 deductible, 90% coverage no co-pays. Dental 95% coverage, unlimited for kids, limited to $1500/year for adults. Great coverage for crappy production job, one of the reasons he stays. I am still in school, so un-employed.

Should any effort be made to make sure the couple is practicing safe sex? After the deed is done, next day? I have read studies that show STD's are spreading faster amoungst the older crowd then the younger, since the younger crowd has been drilled to use condoms.

I tried the family doctor route one time and won't do that again. I thought the whole family could see one doctor but not when I have to wait 45-60 minutes past my appointment time to see him. I switched kids to a pediatrician who never makes me wait and can get me in for same day appointments. I see the CNP at my gyno office for my routine stuff since I am done with babies. Anything urgent I go to our immediate care clinic. Little different but works for me. As for records ask your new doctor and they should have a form requesting your old records to be sent to them by your old doc.

The only place to take a CNA class in the southern half of my state is the local community college and they only take 16 student each class and only 3 classes per year. The only way to get in is to have alot of college credits because students with 99 credits or more get to register first and then it goes down the list until it is full. Since I have my AA and over 100 classes I will be online immediately to sign up for it this coming spring. I would wait in line a couple hours early to get a spot.

Nope, not crazy. I quit a good paying job in 2009 so I could go back to school and finish my Associate of Arts Transfer degree. I finished that and I am going to take a CNA course this spring and hopefully start working this next summer. Not sure yet if I want to become an RN but do know I want to work with people in a medical setting hopefully a hospital. I have always liked going to the hospital, weird, I know.

I would just Cobra your last plan because by the time you get an approval on a new policy you wouldn't be needing it for long. You can also forgo the insurance and if a catastrophy does happen you can back pay your COBRA and you are covered. Little known secret, you can do this for as long as your COBRA is available which is like 6 months. A family member is an insurance agent and told me about this when I was between jobs.

The ads I have seen in my locat paper only want RDH for maybe two-three days a week and a couple I know only work 2-3 days a weeks so they aren't getting 40hrs/week. With the economy teeth come last, my dentist office has been dead lately so it has been fairly easy to get in and get work done.

I live in a small rural town and after 7pm pretty much your only option is the ED. I have kids and they tend to get hurt after the urgent care clinic closes. Thankfully our hospital just opened an urgent care clinic. You go to the ED and if you aren't an Emergency they send you there.

Could be blunt like the hospital I delivered my two boys in. They had no nursery and told me that they wouldn't take the baby because there was going to be no nurse around to take the baby when I got home so I better get used to it fast! I had two c-sections and thought that was a little unfair since I couldn't get up and move for the first day. Needless to say my husband got a crash course in baby care those first days, poor guy, 22 and never had any experience with infants before.

I would look into this further because last year when I was finishing my AA I received Pell Grant money and later on my husband decided to return to school and he got more money than me to go only part-time while I went full time. Did you make a mistake on your financial aid application? Did you put down both of you would be students? Sounds like a mistake was made somewhere in the paperwork.

That sucks, when I am done with my CNA course I am hoping to get into the hospitals. The ones where I live live start at over $11/hr and go up to $16/hr. If you have to get some experience then move on. Can they really pay you less then minimum wage?

I am thinking of becoming a CNA and I am in Southern Oregon. I have looked around and there is only one place to get licensed and they only allow 16 people in 3 time a year so not that many people can get in. It is always filled with a wait list. I can get in first because I already have my AA degree and can register first day it opens. My AA hasn't helped me find a job so I was thinking I should be able to find some work as a CNA with so few being trained in my area. What do you guys think, is the outlook pretty good for CNA's to find a job in this economy?

In southern oregon there is Asante and Providence. Not many jobs in Southern oregon, I live in a rural area and we have a 16% unemployment rate. Can't get called back for anything and I mean anything.

You said you didn't need healthcare benefits so why don't you ask them to waive those in exchange for a pay hike? All they can say is no.
