  1. for iv i draw up the dose of ativan i want to give and then fill the rest of the 3cc syringe with ns to dilute it, easier to push and doesn't hurt the pt as much
  2. i am a tcu student, and i have a lot of friends at twu, i agree that there is no tension between the two programs as a whole, but it does get aggrivating when rumors which were started by a few twu students contenually get perpetuated by the same few students, matt can't you just let it die
  3. i thought stoelting, "pharmacology of anesthetic agents" was a good resourse for pharm.
  4. you don't need a cosigner for the wellsfargo medcap loan, its for med students and covers crna's as well
  5. just take it, if you don't do as well as you liked then take it again, its one of those test that you'll never be able to study enough for, just get it over with so you can stop worrying about it, good luck
  6. you can stafford for $18,500, a secondary loan to cover the schools set cost of attendance, and alternitive loans on top of that. bankone education one goes up to $30,000. i took out $52,000 for the first year, and almost $60,000 for the second year, i have a truck note, insurance, house note, plus apt. rent, and living expenses. living on loans is scary, but it can be done
  7. i'm in school now, and believe me its hard, its a big time commitment, but it can be done, it just requires a lot of sacrifices, clinical rotations are included in the school time so when you graduate you can take boards and start working
  8. we paid for our ear peices with tuition, and they came and fitted us a school
  9. my resume was a basic work resume with others certs, short and sweet, then there was a personal statement which had to be 600-800 words on why i felt i would be a good candidate for school, i put everything in there including college experiences and organizations, work experience, what kind of patients you take, leadership skills, etc.
  10. tuition was $660/credit hr at tcu, they must have gone up, since it is a private university everyone pays the same amount, if you are going to a state university out of state you pay out of state fees for a year until you establish residence
  11. i don't know anything about pda's, but they have wireless internet pretty much everywhere on campus, you can sit in your desk and get online with your laptop, its pretty cool, you can follow the powerpoint presentation on your computer and cut down on paper usage if you want
  12. we had a person in my a&p class that wasn't in the program
  13. there is already another bill waiting for vote by the house, i believe its hb1468, which wants to legalize aa's, it gets voted on in july i believe
  14. why would you want to limit yourself to schools that don't require the gre? that's like accepting a low score and giving up, study a little and retake it, don't limit yourself
  15. you may want to retake it, you have a good gpa, so if you can beef up that score it would help since you have the minimal amount of clinical experience as well
  16. i'm at tcu, they grilled me for about an hour with clinical questions, a lot of them were ccrn type questions, they also asked why i wanted to be a crna and what i need about the current events surounding the profession
  17. as a current tcu student i want to congradulate all of you on getting in, you're going to love it, you couldn't ask for a better learning environment, i really couldn't be more happy about deciding to go to tcu and i'm sure you all will feel the same way, if ya'll have any questions for me feel free to pm me, i know ya'll are probably as nervous as hell, but remember, they wouldn't have let ya'll in if they didn't ya'll had what it takes.
  18. my gpa was only a 3.2 overall, but i scored high on my gre and did good on the interview, they look at everything not just grades, although having good grades is a plus
  19. cv/trauma/neuro, we took everything
  20. i had no other nursing experience, i went to straight to icu directly after undergrad. i took open hearts though and i feel this may been a factor
  21. i currently attend tcu, if you have any specific questions you can pm me
  22. i got in with 1.5yrs, and two people in my class got in with 1yr
  23. check out http://www.lanacrna.com, the bill has already passed the house, they are urging everyone to contact legislators now.
