No, don't give up until the first day of class! Go to the family night and the first day of class, some people will just not show if they chose another school. they have to hold their spot until the first day even if they don't attend orientation or family night! This is what ---- in counseling told me. I just got my letter today, friday.

I just got my acceptance letter for fall : ) so excited to meet everyone on the 12th! did anyone get their uniform at the buena park malll? is that the best bet?

When did you decline Cypress?

I am waiting to hear from them too, I think we will get a letter in the mail. I am telling myself i'll get in so that i'm somewhat more prepared just in case. Best of luck, I hope we both get in : )

Is this some kind of joke? 12 dollars? 9 dollars? per hour? Are you all registered nurses or are some of your CNAs? Sorry I'm just shocked and confused, I make way more than that now and I serve at a restaurant.

for thoes of you who attended GWC, cypress or saddleback... how much math do you need during the program? Can you use calculators? I heard that you have to get 100% on each calculations test or you have to repeat the quarter. Is that true?

robi-d may I ask where you live? so you waited over a year before landing the job?

Just to clarify, I don't know which college I'll attend because I've been accepted next jan and I'm an alternate for august at another school. Of course if I get in this fall I'll take it. Yes I will try to make a great impression to those in my clinicals, thank you for the tip;)

What school did you graduate from, if you don't mind? I am either going to Cypress or Golden west soon. I think I would be willing to move just to get my first job as an RN, there's definitely no shortage in orange county.

oh no, I'm so sorry : / yea I already accepted the spot for spring at GWC, but I really want to get Cypress this fall, too bad they wont tell us until July. I wish you the best, maybe we will both get into Cypress! haha

When did Cypress say they needed our TEAS score? I should have written that down... and do we really need to pay ATI $20 to send it or can we just print it out and hand it to them?

I'm sorry I don't remember how many points, but my pre-reqs were 3 A's and a B in anatomy. they took my IVC GPA which was my worst (of course)... 3.18 hope that helps somehow

well I'm no stats major but, its either one or the other, impossible to be both.

I almost think that GWC just says its lottery so they don't have to spend hours with students who try to go in a make a good impression or get to know them. I tried that and she said "its all lottery" ...shut me up pretty fast. Yet, they say that the longest anyone has ever waited to get into their program is 2 and a half years, if a true lottery were all they use, then statistically many people would literally NEVER get in. I have good grades and got in my second try but I understand the concern, it definitely sounds bad. I think we can all agree that a C student for pre-req classes couldn't stick it out in ANY nursing program for a whole 2 years. lol

thank you CaGuy, I have seen those numbers. I was talking about the drop out rates, but its impossible to find those numbers anywhere. I know that all of the orange county nursing programs are good and of course I want to be a great nurse, but I have read horrible things about GWC and I can't totally ignore that even though like everything on here, its just people's personal opinion. Are you are going to Cypress because you feel it is the best college to prepare you to be a nurse? I hope they let me know on Wednesday if I am in for sure or not! Maybe we will be classmates haha : )

I've always wondered how many breaks do you get during the 12-hour shift and how long are they? Is it hard to find time to take a bathroom break?

wow that is scary. I was accepted to GWC for next Jan but I don't want to wait. I am an alternate for Cypress. Has anyone had good experiences with Cypress or Saddleback? or Golden West for that matter : )

I am also an alternate for cypress, I will see you all on the 19th. I also got accepted to Golden West, but not until January and I am so confused on which to choose. I would rather go to Golden West, but I don't want to wait that long. Does anyone know which schools are harder, different dropout rates, anything?
