  1. -As a sponsor once told me," anything you put before your sobriety will eventually be lost." So very true. (I know this post is old, but such a good saying).
  2. False imprisonment is a restraint of a person in a bounded area without justification or consent. False imprisonment is a common-law felony and a tort. --Please file a report, this is unacceptable behavior...Maybe this individual is the one who requires a UDS?! They can tell you to stay, but THEY CANNOT LOCK A DOOR...this implies imprisonment.
  3. just want to let you know, ..on my way off campus earlier i stopped by the nursing center and asked the receptionist which version. she told me it is the 4.0 version, not the 5.0. she also said they have a few left in the bookstore (it sounds like you have it already though). also, i forgot that on my acceptance letter at the end it says to purchase the 4.0 version. i hope this helps and good luck on your nursing journey!!:)
  4. hi, i am actually accepted to gwc for spring 2011. knowing there is a new version makes me nervous however, i was told that we need version 4.0. my friends and i are studying with the 4.0 guide, but now i'm going to call and double check. and yes, it is totall b.s. saying they can't tell you! anyway, good luck with your test :)
  5. thank you all soooo much. i too have tons of flashcards and it's only the second week:bugeyes:! i know handfuls of people who are nurses and have passed this course. so i can too....hee hee. :) i can do it, i can do it, i can do it. thank you all for the posts
  6. i just started anatomy and i'm so overwhelmed i feel like i'm just spinning my wheels when i study! i'm still studying cell life and tissues i am trying to remember every little thing. i'm exhausted and a little discouraged. i just don't know exactly what i will be tested on so i am trying to do it all at once. i can't imagine that i will be tested on every little thing....or maybe i will....i don't know?! can anyone suggest a direction or a focus point on how to study such a broad subject. any advice would be really, really appreciated. thank you thank you :bowingpur
  7. Hi, I am a new student at GWC and am wondering about the Reputation of their Nursing Program? I have read some 'ok things' and some 'not so ok things' about the program on this site ....however they are dated back in 2001-2004. But when people say that "Hospitals do not favor GWC students"...it's a little disconcerting. Any input/info would be really, really helpful. Thank you all fellow (pre) nursing buddies
  8. Wow, I appreciate all of the Comments/Advice. Your input really helped out. Thanks again :)
  9. The BIOLOGY 100 is recommended and Not required so I wanted to know how my f'ellow pre-nursing students' feel about this? Does anyone think it's worth it or should I jump into my anatomy course and other sciences? What have your experiences been? Any advice/input would be super helpful as I am at a crossroads because I really want to complete my 'required' pre-requisites* Thank you :)
  10. Thank you all for the advice and input. I can't begin to tell you how much it helps. Thank you again. :bowingpur
  11. Hi everyone, I will begin taking my pre-req's this summer and want to know if it is easier to start with Human Physiology or Anatomy before I take Microbiology? ...just wondering if there are things I should really know about the former two classes before taking Micro?? any input would be SO helpful. I have so much school ahead of me ...and I'm nervous. thank you, thank you :wink2::wink2::wink2:
  12. Thank you everyone for your input. It was interesting and educational. I guess I am just going to 'stay the course' and go for my pre-req's and then the RN program..and save the $$$ for a vocational school. Good luck to everyone :)):redpinkhe
  13. I am torn between going to a community college and completing all of my pre-req's or just paying for a 1yr Vocational LVN school and then just doing the LVN-RN bridge program. Is it true that RN programs favor an LVN license over a high GPA from a community college? I just don't want to wait 1 or 2 years to get into the RN prgm... I don't necessarily want to be an LVN, but if it will get me into an RN program (or lvn-rn prgm)faster it may behoove me to just go for it. Anyone with advice or experience would be greatly appreciated. :hpygrp: Thank you
  14. Thank you for your response. American Career College told me they had a 98% pass rate. Maybe that was for '07?! Either way, they are too expensive but I liked their facility. For some reason I am a little skeptical about "The preferred nursing college" but i guess I should visit the campus. Maybe I will just go to community college and spend an extra year and save $20,000...lol one way or another I will get my certification! ha :hpygrp:
