  1. I am finding that it is very much a self taught degree. Not much teaching. Anyone else feel this way??
  2. Sometimes I spend forever reading through things over and over before sending them an email because I do not want to look incompetent. I am hoping some of the problem is that I have been out of school for 2 years and just need to get back in the swing of things.
  3. I just started the DNP program. Currently taking Analytical Methods of EBP. So far I have found some of the directions confusing for the assignments. Any advice on what you thought of this course or if things get better in other courses? Thanks!
  4. I have applied for the DNP program and waiting to hear if I was accepted or not. How is this program going for everyone so far? Any insight on how working on the capstone project has gone?
  5. The Kelsey review book has generalized, basic information in my opinion. Do you feel that it provided sufficient knowledge for the exam, or do you think the more in depth info from Fitzgerald was more in line with the exam?
  6. Why do you think you should have scheduled sooner? Was it easier/harder than what you thought?! Any pointers? SO nervous!
  7. I am waiting to take my NCC exam and have been studying Fitzgerald's online WHNP course. What did you think of the exam, and what would you recommend to use for studying? THanks for any information! :)
  8. I recently applied to take my NCC exam, and curious how long it ended up taking to get your approval? Also, what did you think about the difficulty level of the exam? THanks for any information!!!

I was reading the posts from last year and some said when they logged into their NELRP account, the dates next to their loans were updated to dates within the last couple months. for those of you who have received a letter, when you login are your loan dates updated? I applied and am worried that some of the classes that I took as general eds will be seen as non essential for my degree because I had several credits more than I needed upon graduating. I wonder how close attention they pay to the transcripts!!!
  10. I had 2.5 years of NICU experience. I just got back from Frontier Bound and there were multiple girls with no L&D experience, many ranges of work experience! If this is what you want, apply!! Good luck to you :)
  11. Yes, in about 2 weeks I will be in Kentucky for Frontier Bound, and I am very excited!!! I'm ready to get back into school and cannot wait to get started :)
  12. Nothing yet! They are finishing up this week with the November FB class (according to their Facebook page), so class 84 should be next! Hoping to hear in 1-2 weeks, but we'll see :)
  13. Congrats on being accepted to class 82! I am anxiously waiting to hear if I am accepted to class 84 (CNEP). I was wondering who the acceptance email came from and what was in the subject line? I want to make sure I am looking out for it with a close eye because I get so much junk mail, and they said it was a possibility it would be sent to the junk mail folder! Hope I get to experience your joy very soon!
  14. I know Frontier has an excellent history, and have not heard anyone say negative things about the school. I am wondering if people who are being denied just don't blog :) It would be nice to hear the perspective of a denied student. I am just so nervous and anxious to hear something from the school!!!!
  15. Keep me updating on if you hear anything from the school and I will do the same! Really hoping to hear something by the end of September, but we'll see. I have had my application in since May so it feels like I have been waiting forever!
  16. I just applied to class 84 CNEP. Did either of you ever find out if you were admitted?!
  17. Also, everyone that I have seen posts from in the past have been accepted into the school. Has anyone ever been denied, or know someone who has. If so, were they given reasons as to why?
  18. Hi everyone, I applied to the class 84 midwifery program at frontier. Has anyone else applied there recently? I have heard that admission decisions are made based on a points system and wondering if anyone knows much about how that works. Nervously waiting to hear an admission decision in the next month or so....
  19. l&drocks- since you are at Frontier, do you have any insight on what kind of experience and skills Frontier is looking for in their applicants? I am so excited about this program and the waiting is so rough! I keep looking at other schools for backup plans, but nothing ever feels as right for me as Frontier! I know I have to have faith that what is meant to be will be. Any advice would be warmly welcomed, and congratulations on making it through the program!
  20. I have wanted to deliver babies since I was little. I applied to the Womens Health program at Frontier, but as of 2 days ago have decided to go with my heart and pursue a career as a CNM!! I feel so much better since I have let go of all the negative things people have told me about midwifery and have pushed on with my dream of catching babies! Now I'm just crossing my fingers that Frontier sees something special in me and admits me into the program!
  21. Have either of you heard anything from Frontier? I am hoping to do class 84's CNM program. Did the school personally tell you that if there are a lot of qualified applicants they will consider some for the following class instead of giving them a firm denial? I hope this is true, because that would make the chances at getting in a little better I think. I am so excited to have found Frontier and am so eager to hear from them! Best of luck to you both!!!
  22. Congratulations! I had my application in for class 85, but sent an email today to see if I could bump it up to class 84 since there are still accepting midwifery applications for that class. Do you think your application was pretty competitive? I am just so nervous because I don't know what kind of competition I am going against :)
  23. eager1hasbegun- I am applying to the midwifery program at Frontier. I also graduated with my BSN in 2008, and have since been working in the NICU. I am so nervous, as I feel I may not be qualified enough to get into the program with my experience. Are there many people in your class that did not have L&D experience? Also, how do you like the program so far? Any information would be greatly appreciated!!!
  24. I am curious is any of you found out if you were accepted yet. I am also applying to Frontier :)
  25. I am looking into the Administration focus at Walden. How do the practicums work? Do you find a preceptor who is a manger and follow them? How many hours per week is required for the practicum? Thanks!
