  1. I am also getting a pop up but it says " Our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Please contact your Member Board for further assistance. Another registration cannot be made at this time." My test was successfully delivered. What does this pop up mean?
  2. Congratulations to you AmyStudentNurse! You will love it so much!!! Do everything you want to before June 11!
  3. Hey all! I got THE phone call today--I finally got into GateWay's program. I waited 3 semesters. My date/time is 6/16/09, 8:05:45am. I am to hyperly excited now! GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU STILL SITTING ON THE LIST! If you haven't done it and have a wait, take HCR 240 at Chandler Gilbert CC Pecos w/ Dr. DeScalia. I am ready to tackle nursing school because of this class.
  4. MurseNick--congrats on getting in! I am wondering---are you a Banner employee? I see you got in Priority Placement at Boswell, so I'm wondering how/why you got in so darn fast!? Good for you! The waitlist is pretty miserable...
  5. djh123--Thanks for "venting"! I so much appreciate it! I'm on a waitlist for NS and will be getting in shortly. I'm middle-aged, too, w/ family, etc. I'm alittle scared about the whole thing, but *&%(! I'm just gonna do it! You will too! a nurse friend of mine told me he wanted to quit so badly in the first semester, but his wife wouldn't let him, and he made it through. You'll make it! One of my instructors now is also a nurse and she told our class that school is just plain hard, they don't care about anything--that's just how it's done. Just stay focused on what you need to do and it'll happen. I've got to remember this for myself!!!!
  6. Congratulations AZCodeBlue and Askaalen!! So happy for you!! Thank you for announcing your placements and time stamps. It helps a lot, so us still waiting have some sort of idea where we're at! The not knowing where you are is hard as you well know. Good luck in your programs !!! Askaalen--This morning on the placement page there was no opening for PVCC, so obviously someone who was placed did not turn their acceptance form in or someone declined today.
  7. Me neither and I also have the same date stamp. My time stamp is 8:05:45. What about you? I've got ants in my pants about getting in!!!
  8. My date/time is 8:05 etc on 6-16-09 and I did NOT get placed. . Still waiting a little bit impatiently right now.
  9. Did I understand correctly that you said there are as of today, or on 10-22-10, 70 spots still available? If that's right, then how come it doesn't show up on the placement page for nursing? Does anyone know what time stamp they are up to now? The latest I can find on allnurses is 6/16/09 @ 8:03:50.... Thanks!
  10. How many choices do you have filled out? I'm behind you by 85 seconds on the list, which means 85 people. I'm pretty sure I won't be in till fall now...ugh! I'll bet you'll be in soon!
  11. That is a very good question! I wonder if you'd call the nursing hotline on the front page of the placement that someone would tell you. I called the phone number yesterday and spoke to someone who was SO NICE! She could not tell me the very last time stamp on 6/16/09 that was placed though. By reading these boards I'm thinking they are somewhere in the 8:04-8:05 time area. The lady did say something about the colleges still opening or letting them know about vacancies, so maybe that's where the 66 spots are for. I don't know what all the initials are--one of them is VA, like Veterans maybe? Does the Veterans have reserved spots for nursing students w/ Maricopa Colleges?
  12. My date and time is 6/16/09 8:05:45. I am not in yet. I have 5 choices listed. I called the nursing district yesterday cause I'm so frustrated, and the really nice lady--did not get her name unfortunately--told me I'm very close. she could not say the very last time stamp that was offered a placement cause it's so mixed up w/ so many deferrals, so many people who got skipped over because of their choices, etc. She told me to keep a close eye on the Monday before placements and to be sure to check the website etc. At the Oct 5 placement they did post the last placement was @ 8:03:45, and they probably placed about 80 new people 2 days ago, so I'm holding my breath. I have a gut feeling that I'll end up missing the cut off and I'll be first in line for fall of 11.
  13. Oct 19 is basically here and Maricopa Nursing District will be placing at least 50 more future nurses in respective programs. At least 50 people have deferred. I wonder why so many people are deferring??? To Deeval, I have no idea. I'd suggest calling the District or visting with an advisor. Good luck!
  14. Congratulations to all who got in!!! Good luck to you all, too, in nursing school! My date stamp is 6/2009, 8:05:45. I have all 5 choices filled out, and am still waiting to get in. This is all very encouraging!
  15. Hi--The Glendale weekend program sounds pretty good, but how many semesters or how long did you all have to wait to get into it? It's the only program like it being offered, so I'm thinking it's pretty popular.
  16. I also have a 6/16/09 datestamp, but w/a truly lousy time stamp. Grrrr! I'm sure I'm at the bottom of the load. I am HOPING to get in this 01/11, too. A guy I sit next to in HCR240 told me he has 2/09 date stamp and he hasn't gotten in yet. I'm not sure how many schools he has on his list.
  17. This BSN program at ASU sounds really good. I never took statistics though. Why would it be required? I didn't know that you could work and that the employer like a hospital will pay for classes to get your BSN. Is that right? FYI, I'm taking HCR240 right now at Chandler Gilbert CC--Pecos campus. It is such an excellent and outstanding class and perfect to take during the wait! It's very fast moving, but boy, the professor is so so so good! If you're debating on taking it online v. a real class, take the class, and take it at CGCC-Pecos. It's also a pre req for a BSN. I had heard from an MCC nursing instructor that by taking it will prepare you so much better for RN school. It's all good. One cool thing in her class is each of us gets assigned 4 diagnoses over the semester to create a SOAP note for the class, so we're already practicing being nurses, sort of, without being a nurse yet. Is the wait now really 3 years? My date/time stamp is June of 09 and I'm holding my breath that I get in this spring. When I got my stamp I was told it'd be 3 or 4 semesters. I've waited now 3 semesters. I believe I read on the maricopa site that they were up to Feb 09 at 8:04minutes. Also, does Catholic Healthcare West have a similar Banner program? I heard that but I can't find any information about it.
  18. So is the wait still 2 years, or more? They've dropped the Banner program which helped move people up the list, but there's about 2800 people on Maricopa Nursing waitlist. I'm thinking the wait is more like 3 years...Ugh!!! Any comments???
  19. I'm with those who's mentioned that the phone hasn't rang. I'm waiting, too! Keeping the faith! Congrats on those who have been called and have already gotten interviews! Good luck!!!
  20. I applied for the July cohort and have not heard anything yet. I'm THRILLED to read the rumor that the July cohort will go on as planned and am keeping my fingers crossed that I get selected, even though I'm not a Banner employee.
  21. Boy, do I ever appreciate this new information being shared, even though it's ultimately very sad news. I also applied for the July cohort and have been looking in my mail box every day last week, and now I'll be lucky to even get some sort of letter if the director's gone! A lady told me at church yesterday that Banner let go 22 nurse practioners because Banner needs to cut the budget big time so they let these NPs go who primarily worked in the neonatal unit. Unbelievable! We really are in hard times!!!
  22. what do you mean--lock in tuition?
  23. Thanks Patientlywaiting2008. Good luck to you and congrats for getting in, too! I'm encouraged that you did get your first choice and your wait was also 1.5 years which is what I was also told. At the time I got in ASU was limiting their program and the applications seemed to be pouring in! I just figure when I do get in it'll be the right time. The waiting thing is hard and can be discouraging, only if we let it!
  24. This is exactly the posting I was and had been looking for. Thank you! I just started spending time on this site yesterday. I'm going to write some detail so others won't have to go through what I went through, or somehow to avoid what I went through. I got a terrible time stamp. I had all nursing application requirements completed by the middle of March 09, and then I couldn't get w/ my advisor. She was either booked or on vacation. I did finally get w/ her on April 7, '09, which meant I had missed the deadline for March 31. Ugh. Because my app was in by early April, then I'd have to wait 2 more months to get my time and date stamp. At the time I didn't truly understand the whole thing, but now I do of course. I got my date and time stamp on June 16, 2009 8:05:45 AM. I think I was the very last of that days run, so those people who put in theirs at the end of May are likely ahead of me, but that's how the cookie crumbles. I assume I'll get in when I'm supposed to get in. I figure that 345 people are ahead of me just on that date alone. That's almost a whole semester of nursing students at all the Maricopa colleges alone!!! I have not been placed yet. My choices are currently SCC trad., MCC trad., CGCC trad, GCC weekend and Gateway accel. --not exactly in that order. I saw someone say they're likely up to 2/09 applications, but who really knows, right? I'm keeping my fingers crossed extremely hard for this fall but I'm overly optimistic I think. I hate to admit it, but I am alittle happy when people decide to defer their enrollment, although I realize the person who has to do it likely has to do it likely under unfortunate circumstances. I know how hard they've worked and how long they've waited, and can really appreciate their situation.
