    Did my externship at NYP-Cornell and loved every minute of it. It was 10 weeks long, worked three 12 hour shifts a week and got paid $14/hr...they also decided to give us the option of staying throughout our senior year.

    By train it is a 2 hour ride and by car it it 1 hour with no traffic and 1.5 hours with traffic. Commuting is hard, I know b/c I did it my senior year. Maybe you should look into staying near campus or on campus.
