  1. Good call - show the wet toothbrush
  2. For those that aren't sure if they will like or fit into a medical environment going the CNA route can an inexpensive and low time commitment to find out. I knew I wanted to get into patient care but some can have issues with it. I say try it out, if you like it continue climbing the ladder. :) Suzanne
  3. I passed! A looong time ago! hehehe Suzanne
  4. I think that's the one thing (of many!) that CNAs have in common and it's nerves before the skills test. The skills can seem very technical and you might think you can keep all those steps in order. But a lot of the steps are the same for each skill. My bit of advice: There are skills will have the same steps in the beginning and the end - so learn those steps first, front and back and you've taken out a big chunk of the work.
  5. It's so nice to be done with training. It's like a weight off your shoulders, isn't it? Now its study time and that can be a headache in it self but I agree with Josh it isn't that hard but you definitely have to put your study time in. Some of the question get technical. I've never heard about being checked off for the skills exam - will you tell us more about that? I would hate for there to be a mix up and you end up having to do the skills!
  6. $12.50/hr That was in Virginia.
  7. Taking blood pressures are tricky and can take a bit to get comfortable with. On my exam I think I was most nervous about blood pressure not because I wasn't confident - but I was worried about the "instructor factor." That I could do everything right and for some reason still wouldn't make my 4mm buffer. Most instructors are not out to get you but there are a few that really stick to their guns and I understand why. Good study habits is the key to passing. Good luck Test Takers! :) Suzanne
