  1. I heard a rumor that Hohokus School is starting an LPN to RN bridge program. Does anyone know if that is true. Thanks
  2. I think this is a sad situation for everyone involved. But I don't think that this case should be any different than any other person who is in the same situation. If the husband's motivation is money it sad on his part but hasn't he spent tons on lawyer fees for the last 7 years. No one knows but him what he feels about Terri we only know what the media wants us to think about the situation. And as far as the parents are concerned I'm sure they are acting out of love but aren't they being selfish to Terri? What type of life has this poor girl had? And if she was put back on the feeding tube what happens to her after they die? Will the burden of taking care of her be put on someone else? Or will it be ok for her to die then? My professor brought up a good point about this case as well. Why is it that congress held an emergency meeting to make a ruling on this case when there are some many other issues regarding healthcare that gets swept under the rug. It's sad how politicians find a way to manipulate situations for there personal gain.
  3. One of the hospitals in Lawrenceville is Gwinnett Medical Center. http://www.gwinnetthealth.org/facilities/gmc.asp I am not from Ga but I did visit last year because I am also looking to live in that area. I know Emory also has a location in that area. I hope this helps. Good luck with your move. Kera
  4. I visited GA a few times last year and fell in love with it. I'm an LPN student and wanted to know what is the salary range for entry level LPNs in the Gwinnett County/ Atlanta area. I know the salary would be lower than where I am in Nj but housing is extremely high in NJ compared to the area I visited in Ga. Besides housing what is the cost of living like. Thanks
  5. Laurasc - I personally think it depends on what you consider a comfortable lifestyle. If you want the nice house, good school system, safe neighborhood, vacations and to be able to save it will cost alot to do it in NJ. I agree with RNMAVEN if you choose to live in Nj bring alot of $$.
  6. It's amazing how ungrateful some people can be especially when they are asking you for a favor.
  7. I don't think that $20hr to clean after someone is alot of money. Nurses as well as many other professions should be angry at there pay. There are accounting jobs that start off at $26,000 annually for people with 4yr degrees. Who put in long hours without overtime pay. Perhaps with nurses being in such demand they should utilize that in order to boost their salaries before excepting these positions.
  8. I would think you would need closer to 150k+ annually for the lifestyle you are talking about. Not to mention you would be in a highly congested area traffic wise. You're talking about 400-500k for a decent home with about a 1/2 an acre or more of land in a good area. Not to mention you would definitely want to check out taxes in that area because property tax in New Jersey can be pretty high. And bergen county which is the next county over is pretty high as well. We don't pay tax on clothes or food which is a plus because most other states do. Our sales tax is 6% and in some of the urban areas only 3%. You may also want to look at the nj.gov site to get an idea of how the department of education is set up. I would definitely visit the area before he even contemplated such an offer. You may want to contact some realtors such as Coldwell Banker, Weichart Realtors or Remax and request that they send you some info on relocating. They should have a list of private schools in that area and give you an idea of the price of tuition. Good Luck with your decision.
  9. Thanks I really need that.
  10. I don't care about getting tax money back when are country is in debt. And if the government isn't meant to help us why are we paying taxes.
  11. Well Kerry won more votes than anyone else as well. Unfortunately not enough. Beside even people that I heard who voted for Bush don't like him. Maybe that should go in the history books. How he is one of the most disliked U.S. presidents domestically and internationally.
  12. Oldnurse - Please don't take offense to what I'm saying. I just think this election has turned from voting about the true issues into voting based on fears.
  13. It's sad that this election has people voting against their own self-interests. Which I always thought the whole point of voting was. If you are 50 and te don't vote democtratic I hope you have a nice cushion in the bank or a great career because you won't be able to afford to retire at 62. As far as the war being fought here well it started here on 9/11 and frankly in 3 years we are a much at risk as we were 3 years ago. Granted Bush did capture Saddam big deal he was no real threat. Bin Laden is still out there and guess what he has our weapons to bomb us with now. Thanks Bush!!! The way he's going we'll all be dead in 4 more years.:angryfire
  14. I totally agree with you. Unfortunately though I think Bush has instilled so much fear in people that other important issues have taken a back burner . What's even scarier is how people have forgotten that nothing has been done to make it safer.
  15. Kerry All The Way !!!!!!! Don't Think We'd Survive Four More Years!!!
