  1. Soldieroflove - Congratulations!! Such great news! :-) Which unit will you be on?
  2. Ok good to know, I will take that into consideration. Thanks again!
  3. Mike, why don't you like Sac? In what ways are the outlying towns cool? :-) Thanks!!
  4. Thank you! It's an operating room training program, my dream job! Do you work at UCDMC? Midtown sounds pretty awesome, though it's a little more expensive right? Is it 5 minutes by bus or driving? I'm fine with paying a little more for a good location. Would really like to be close to shops, cafes, restaurants, a grocery store, etc. If you have any more tips, I'd love to hear. Thanks again! ?
  5. Hi all! I am very happy to report I was just offered a nursing position at UCDMC. I currently live in San Francisco and will move to Sacramento for the job. Can anyone recommend a good neighborhood that is relatively lively, safe, with an easy commute to the med center? Any other tips? Thanks for your help! :-)
  6. That is great info - thank you! And good luck to us :-)
  7. Hi all - has anyone heard back from John Muir after the panel interviews? I think they were supposed to get back to us in June (nice and specific)... thanks! :-)
  8. Thank you for the advice! I had my interview this morning and I think it went well. I used your tips and made positive statements ("I AM great at...") instead of more passive ones... :-) Fingers crossed!
  9. Hi there! Thank you for this information! I'm a new grad going in to interview for an OR training program (tomorrow!) and would love to hear more about your interview experience. What else did they ask you? What did you think they're looking for? Thanks again!
  10. Hi there! Thank you for this information! I'm a new grad going in to interview for an OR training program (tomorrow!) and would love to hear more about your interview experience. What else did they ask you? What did you think they're looking for? Thanks again!
  11. Hi there! I was wondering how your interview went - what type of questions did they ask? etc... I'm a NG and have an interview for an OR training program (tomorrow!) and could use any help I can get. And... did you get the job? :-) Thanks!!
  12. I spoke with the nurse recruiter at UCSF who said the initial screening of applicants is done in May, and call backs for interviews will take place in early June. She said if we haven't heard back by late June, we can assume we were not selected. Did you apply for all 8 positions there? I applied for the 3 I thought I had the best shot at... Good luck to all of us!
  13. Thanks for the tip, fiveofpeep. What certifications/training do you recommend other than ACLS?
  14. Hi there! May I ask which hospital/city you are referring to? I'm a new grad and would also love to work in the OR! Thanks!
  15. Great, thanks so much for the tips! Fingers crossed...
