Pearsonvue Trick Is this TRUE? Does it work every time?
Hello all. I just came back to post since I got my results today and I passed! I took the test on Jan. 28 in California, did the PVT and the good pop-up. I just got my results today since it was mailed here in the Philippines(took about 6 weeks). Now I'm more convinced the PVT is not a "trick" but simply how their system works to stop passers from paying for a retake and demanding refunds should that happen. To all takers waiting on only the good pop-up, you can relax. The PVT is for all of us to stay sane while awaiting the official results. I know it helped me stay sane.

Pearsonvue Trick Is this TRUE? Does it work every time?
On the Pearsonvue website: SPECIAL NOTICE: This website is scheduled to undergo routine maintenance on 13 February from Saturday, 6:00 p.m. CT– Sunday, 6:00 a.m. CT. During this time, you will not be able to schedule, reschedule or cancel test appointments. We apologize for this inconvenience and thank you for your patience. I hope by "routine maintenance" they leave it at just that. I would hate for them to possibly fix the pop-up trick seeing as it helps lessen the anxieties of those taking the NCLEX exams for states that do not participate in the Quick Results service. If this Special Notice message above is common and occurs monthly or something, then disregard my comment. (▰˘◡˘▰)

Pearsonvue Trick Is this TRUE? Does it work every time?
Thanks for the link loma6685. Unfortunately, I can't take part in that because I haven't provided the CA BON with a Social Security Number. I'm an international nursing graduate from the Philippines, hence the lack of an SSN. Apparently they don't update the permanent verification system you provided in your link if the examinee lacks certain requirements like an SSN or a TOR.

Pearsonvue Trick Is this TRUE? Does it work every time?
watney, oh yeah, I forgot about choosing the opposite exam you took=credit card page too. No, I took the NCLEX-RN for California(no quick results) so I have to resign myself to waiting around 3 or 4 weeks to be mailed the official results. I check the PVT around 3 times a day to calm myself down, though I still have minor palpitations when i click the final Next button every time I do it. :)

Taking NCLEX Feb 5th....IM FREAKING OUT!!
What I did was on my last week before my scheduled exam, I continued answering questions(around 150 per day) and on the day before the exam, I slowed down. No more answering questions, I just let my mind wander while listening to my favorite music. If I find that "Oh, I forgot what the cranial nerves were" while just lazing around, I'd look it up on the internet. I also focused on my labs the day before my exam. You have to destress before the exam, or you'll be even more intimidated and that might possibly disturb optimal thought processes in your mind when you finally take it. And pray. It really, REALLY helps.

what should i do?
Hahaha. I felt the same way when I reviewed for my exam. I used Lippincott's Q&A Review for NCLEX-RN which had its fair share of errors, some of which were normal typos while some impacted the nursing content. One example of which was a CPR question for children, I think, which asked for the appropriate ratio. I looked through the four choices for the right answer which I knew, but it wasn't there. What I did was I just looked up the answer on the internet. Probably because I have an old edition which might not have been updated to current standards. I would advise you to still answer questions on your book as it will make you accustomed to NCLEX-style questions and the wording of it, but be on the lookout for any errors. If the rationale bothers you and you think it might be incorrect, you can just look it up on the internet to verify it.

Pearsonvue Trick Is this TRUE? Does it work every time?
iluvnursing07, are you sure your classmates followed the steps in page 1 of this thread step-by-step? Maybe, possibly, your classmates did the PVT wrong(like NOT logging in to their username and registering again for the same exam= credit card page). Can you clarify with them exactly what they did? Thanks.

Best info ever for infx control
Yes, I have also used this same post about infection control to great effect. When I took my exam last Thursday, it seemed like I was able to answer questions related to infection control thanks to these very, very awesome mnemonics(and reading up articles at cdc.gov). I highly recommend that anyone planning to take the NCLEX memorize these mnemonics.

Thank you for coming back to inform us, terrifiedtotears. And, oh, congratulations! When I took my exam yesterday it went all the way to 205 questions before it stopped. Needless to say, I was devastated as all of my friends who took and passed the NCLEX-RN earlier passed and stopped at 75 questions. I did the trick when I got home and when I got the "good" pop-up, I was ecstatic at first. But then, I reminded myself that anything can happen, so I'm not going to place all my hopes in this trick. I keep telling myself if I pass, I pass. If not, then I don't. But it does help to relieve my anxiety in waiting since I took the CA exam.

Just finished the NCLEX.....PVT
As long as the status of your exam says "Delivery Successful" and you have the good pop-up telling you to contact the Member Board, that should be a good sign.:)

Pearsonvue Trick Is this TRUE? Does it work every time?
Alright thanks vickyvic1. You're right, I should believe the majority who said the trick worked for them and not the one person who said otherwise. Who knows, he/she may have made a simple, honest mistake or maybe he/she was just trolling. And I got the good pop-up.:) Here's to hoping it holds up until the official results.

Pearsonvue Trick Is this TRUE? Does it work every time?
I've been looking through the threads of the site wanting to see if there is anyone who tried the trick and it did the reverse for them. So far I've found only one: https://allnurses.com/nclex-discussion-forum/nclex-earlier-pearson-431389-page3.html#post3941088 gieya15 said that he/she tried the trick and it took him/her to the credit card page but he/she passed in the official results. I'm happy that it worked out for gieya15, but now I'm worried whether the same holds true for those who got the "good" pop-up. I have yet to see a post claiming that they got the "good" pop-up but later failed in the official results. Has anyone come across a post like this?

Pearsonvue Trick Is this TRUE? Does it work every time?
Yeah, same here man. I didn't want to do the trick at first too because I was scared of going to the credit card page. A poster observed though that those people who say the trick didn't work for them usually didn't provide much details regarding what they did. I don't really know what to believe now, but at least doing the trick earlier is gonna help me sleep at night. Praying for the best and hoping that the trick is true.

Pearsonvue Trick Is this TRUE? Does it work every time?
Congratulations Oso Polar! I really do hope this trick works for me. I got the good pop-up a few hours earlier and it calmed my nerves. On a side note, has there been anyone who has posted on the PVT thread that the trick backfired on them?(like getting the good pop-up but later failing or being redirected to the credit card page but later passing) I would check out the thread, but at 696 pages, I don't think I can dig through them all. :)

Anyone ever had the "PVT" indicate you passed, but you failed?
This is relevant to my interests. I also had the "good" pop-up and I'm interested on whether the Pearsonvue Trick has backfired on anyone(like getting a good pop-up and then failing or being redirected to the credit card page and then passing).

Oh. My. God. I did the PVT. And when I clicked next, the good pop-up came out. It's like 90% of my anxiety instantly dissipated as soon as I read those sweet, sweet words. "Please contact your Member Board for further assistance." I mean, I know it's unofficial and all, but with the PVT thread's replies in the thousands, I can't help feeling pleased with myself. Thanks for all the support guys! I have (unofficially) passed with the PVT!!!! Thank you God.

Thanks. Not going to divulge specific questions, but yes. There was an item where the computer had me wear the headphones to identify a sound file.

Just got back from the exam today. It was FREAKING HARD. I ended at 205 questions. On the drive back home, I felt depressed the whole way. I'm probably gonna do the PVT but not before praying the rosary and telling my mom about the test. God, help me. I am so nervous about doing the PVT and it going straight to the credit card page.
