I have a question.. I want to become an RN. There are plenty of jobs around my area and also plenty of people looking for those jobs. I really need to get my foot in the door in order to stand a chance of getting an RN position. I was thinking about a CNA course since we do not have a surgical technican course at my school. Woudl the CNA path be a good one to take, or should I go for the LPN program and then RN? Thanks so much!

Hello, I'm hoping to get into nursing school next year but for now I am looking for something to do. I thought about the CNA course but it won't pay enough for me (I'm 30 years old and have bills to pay). I was wondering if phlebotomy is something they teach in nursing school or if it would be worth-wile to take the course at my local college. I definately don't want to take it if it's something that I will learn later on in nursing school. Thanks alot!

It does not sound like artifact noise. I hear the loud beats and then it just sounds like the beats get quieter and quieter but never completely disappear. I have tried it on my boyfriend who is 30 so it's definitely not from old age, lol. Maybe I will get some help from my instructor.

I have a Littman Cardiology III.. I was thinking the stethoscope was too good and that is why i continue to hear the beat so low, lol.

I just bought a set of these and I love the pants. I am a plus sized girl and the shirt fits good. Just buy the shirt a size bigger than you normally wear and it should fit great.

Hi, I'm in the CNA class and we are learning how to take manual blood pressues. I understand the top number but I'm totally confused about the bottom number. I was told that it is when you stop hearing any noise, but I continue to hear noise even when it's very low. So i'm thinking the bottom number is when the noise stops being as loud, is that correct? Thanks for any help.

LOL, I read this and the first thing I thought was that you are a drug user. Maybe you are, maybe you aren't.. but as someone who is not (myself), they can test me every week, prior and after, and I wouldn't care.

At my community college you can re-take a class and if you get a better grade it will replace the poor grade. Also if you have any F's, my college has a program where you can get them taken off. Definately go talk to an advisor about ways to get your GPA up.

I will hopefully be accepted to nursing school for the fall 2011 start. I'm in a very big hurry for many reasons. I was laid off from my job, currently on unemployment and having a heck of a time finding a job. I would love to be a licensed RN and actually have a leg to stand on as far as getting a job goes. I am also an older student (29), so I don't exactly have alot of time to wait as I want a family and marriage and a house. The sooner I get into nursing school the sooner these things can happen. If anyone is not in a hurry, they are obviously young.

Hi all, I plan to become a CNA (classes start March 31st). I am also working on the prereq's for an RN program. The hospital I want to work at requires candidates to be a CNA before you can become a Student Nurse which is why I am doing the CNA program.. also because it will give me alot of great experience, I'm sure. I was wondering at what point can you go from being a CNA to being a Student Nurse. Or is it the same thing? Do you have to wait until you are actually taking the Nursing classes, or can it be while you are doing the prereq's? I'm assuming a Student Nurse would pay more than a CNA position. Not that money matters all that much but I am in my late 20's and have my own home that I have to be able to pay for. Thanks so much.

Hi all, I was going through my school information tonight, I am not yet a student. I noticed that the CMA program they have seems to have alot more "stuff" about basic healthcare than the RN program does. Like Medical Terminology. It's a whole class in the CMA program but not even mentioned in the outline for the RN program. Is that just something that you learn along the way in the RN program? I noticed a couple other classes to that aren't listed on the RN program. Just curious how this works.

Thank you for all the replies. I'm still confused but your replies were great. When I said "little" schooling, I meant time-wise. I do understand that nursing school is very challenging. Also, As far as getting upi n the morning, well I think I confused you all about that as well. The thing I hate is getting up Monday to Friday at 6am(for example), every day, every week, every month. I would totally love odd hours. I used to get up on monday mornings and the first thing I thought about is how I have to do this 4 more times and it was totally unmotivating. Anyway, I'm still not sure what to do but thank you all.
