Need help looking for ER job in Seattle
I'm currently a nurse in Alabama working in an ER Observation and ER Holding position. I've been a nurse since Jan 2023 and I have been looking for a ER nursing job in the Seattle area. I have applied to several hospitals and had one interview with no luck so far. I'm reaching out now to make connections with nurses in the Seattle area and get some help navigating the process of getting in touch with hospital RN recruiters in the area.

transfer from Jeff State to UAB BSN program - can this be done?
There's no way to transfer your nursing courses in the middle of your ADN program into a BSN program beacuse you need to finish all your BSN prereuisites before you can even start the BSN program. My advice to you would be to finish your ADN at Jeff state then go for your BSN at UAB that way you'll be making money alot sooner and you wont have to go through the headache of doing those prereusites without having an ADN in hand.

How competitive is UAH's nursing school?
I went to UAH and according to the adviser alot of times you will need to have a 3.0 GPA as long as you have a 3.0 or above you have a good chance of getting excepted.

Thanks for the support. I ened up with a B in anatomy 2 I got an 88 I was only two points away from an A. I was so upset to be so close. But I think I'll be ok. I ordered the TEAS V Manual and it will be here soon that gives me a week and a half to study for the TEAS test. Is that enough time?

Hello everyone I'm doing my nursing prereq's at calhoun right now im hoping to get in the nursing program for spring 2012. I've taken Anatomy 1 and got an A. I'm taking Anatomy 2 and currently have an A in the class and expect to recieve an A at the end of the summer semester. I have taken all other prereq's except Microbiology and math I plan on taking these this fall. Im also planning on taking my TEAS test next month and then applying for nursing school once the results come back I just want to know how long it takes for the test scores to come back and find out if anyone is in the same boat as I. Im really excited and really nervous about my application but I'm optimistic about it.

CNA training - Help?
Well you have several options 1)you could take the course at a local community college 2) You can go to your local red cross and get your cna certification or 3) You can work at a local skilled nursing or ltc facillity where they'll eventually pay for your cna certification if you get hired and make a good impression on them. I personally went with option number 2 the problem is I had to pay $600 for the course. But it all worked out though I now work at a hospital on the neurology floor I love my job and I'm one and a half semesters (The rest of this spring plus next fall) away from applying to nursing school. Good Luck

A&P and Micro at the same time?
Ok I have a possible problem. I am current finishing the prereqs for my ADN program and I'm not sure what I shoud do. The admission to the nursing program is based on a point system which mainly depends on what grades you get in A&P I and II and Microbiology. Right now I am taking A&P I and Im shooting for an A to get the highest amount of points. In the srping Im taking A&P II ,obviously, and I was planning on taking Microbiology in the summer. But the application deadline for admission in the nursing program in the fall is at the end of spring . And if I wait till after summer to apply for the nursing program I'll have to wait til spring 2012 to start! So to finally get to my question: Would it be to hard to take A&P II and Microbiology at the same time? Or should I just take them in seperate semesters and wait it out til spring for admission to the nursing program?

bsn vs adn
The BSN is more for those that want to move up to managerial positions the ADN is more hands on. I also heard that your pay is capped at a certain point when you have your ADN but don't take my word for it, it was just something I heard from someone that was in a BSN program and we were comparing the BSN and the ADN programs in our area.

RN License in Washington or Alabama?
Hello. I'm currently finishing my prereq's for nursing in Alabama and plan on getting my ADN but I plan on getting my BSN in Washington state. My question is should I get my RN License in Alabama and try to transfer it to Washington when I move or should I just immediately apply for my licesure in Washington once I graduate and apply to a BSN program? Is Washington one of those states that recognizes RN licenses from other states? Thank for reading this. I appreciate any feedback anyone could give me.

Starting CNA training next month.
I signed up to take the CNA course at the Red Cross. I'm very excited about it. It's a four week course and it starts on May 25th. I just got the book yesterday and I have to read the first seven chapters of the book before the first class. I've only read the first chapter so far. Anyway I have a friend of a friend who is about to graduate from nursing school and who currently works at the hospital as a CNA who says they can get me a job there once im finished with the course. I just wanted to ask what to expect during the course and to ask current CNA's what it's like to work in the hospital setting? I've read through a couple of the CNA horror stories and I'm a little worried the ones I've read through were ones of CNA's that worked in assisted living facilities. Is it different for those that work in hospital settings? Thank you for reading and thanks for to those who give feedback.

Do I have a chance?
Thanks I'l have too look into that but I'm not sure that there are any private LPN programs in my area.

Do I have a chance?
Thanks for your help and thanks to the person who private messaged me. I plan on hopefully getting my LPN then going into a bridge program once I've worked as an LPN for a little while. I just really hope that I have a chance of getting into the LPN program here. I'm also very excited about starting CNA training next month and can't wait to start.

Do I have a chance?
I recently decided to go to LPN school because I was attending college to get my BSN but I had some personal problems that reflected my grades this past semester and as a result my chances of getting into the nursing program at the university I was going to are nearly impossible. I decied to take this semester off to get my CNA training next month so that I could at least work in the nursing field. I am going to apply for the LPN program so that I can ,if accepted, start in the fall. But I am very worried that my GPA at the college I previously attened will affect my acceptance into the LPN program. I attened the my previous college for 3 regular semesters and took two courses this past summer. My first two semesters and during the summer I maintained a 2.5 but this past semesters grades brought my GPA down to a 1.75. If I were to conitinue I would have to retake most of the courses I took this past semester and continue try to get my GPA up to a 3.0 by the time I applied for the nursing program. I spoke with my advisor who didn't say aloud, but implied, that it would probably be nearly impossible for me to get into the upper division of the BSN program. Anyway, I am very worried that my previous college work will affect my chances of getting into the LPN program because the application ask for your high school transcript and a transcript of the colleges in which you attended. I'm not worried about my high school transcript because I had a 3.5 after high school graduation. My college transcript however is awful. Does anyone have any advice of what I could do or if there's any chance I could get into the program?
