  1. I'm currently a nurse in Alabama working in an ER Observation and ER Holding position. I've been a nurse since Jan 2023 and I have been looking for a ER nursing job in the Seattle area. I have applied to several hospitals and had one interview with no luck so far. I'm reaching out now to make connections with nurses in the Seattle area and get some help navigating the process of getting in touch with hospital RN recruiters in the area.

  3. Idk if you still need this information but the bridge program is available now.
  4. The waiting is killing me but I'm starting to psyche myself out. I know the day I get my letter is getting closer and closer. But I'm soooo worried I won't get in.
  5. There's no way to transfer your nursing courses in the middle of your ADN program into a BSN program beacuse you need to finish all your BSN prereuisites before you can even start the BSN program. My advice to you would be to finish your ADN at Jeff state then go for your BSN at UAB that way you'll be making money alot sooner and you wont have to go through the headache of doing those prereusites without having an ADN in hand.
  6. Anyone else apply for spring 2012 nursing program at calhoun? I'm so nervous but I'm hoping I got in I got an A A&P1 a B in A&P2 a 72 on my TEAS and im still not sure any of that is was enough to get in. Im currently taking micro as well.
  7. I went to UAH and according to the adviser alot of times you will need to have a 3.0 GPA as long as you have a 3.0 or above you have a good chance of getting excepted.
  8. Thanks for the support. I ened up with a B in anatomy 2 I got an 88 I was only two points away from an A. I was so upset to be so close. But I think I'll be ok. I ordered the TEAS V Manual and it will be here soon that gives me a week and a half to study for the TEAS test. Is that enough time?
  9. Thanks so much for the info im taking the test on August 22 and I'm going to start studying next week at the end of my summer semester. I'm really excited about applying and cant wait to know weather I get in or not.
  10. Thanks for the info. I'm really nervous about getting in but a little less nervous now that you've told me about the TEAS and what to expect.
  11. Hello everyone I'm doing my nursing prereq's at calhoun right now im hoping to get in the nursing program for spring 2012. I've taken Anatomy 1 and got an A. I'm taking Anatomy 2 and currently have an A in the class and expect to recieve an A at the end of the summer semester. I have taken all other prereq's except Microbiology and math I plan on taking these this fall. Im also planning on taking my TEAS test next month and then applying for nursing school once the results come back I just want to know how long it takes for the test scores to come back and find out if anyone is in the same boat as I. Im really excited and really nervous about my application but I'm optimistic about it.
  12. Well you have several options 1)you could take the course at a local community college 2) You can go to your local red cross and get your cna certification or 3) You can work at a local skilled nursing or ltc facillity where they'll eventually pay for your cna certification if you get hired and make a good impression on them. I personally went with option number 2 the problem is I had to pay $600 for the course. But it all worked out though I now work at a hospital on the neurology floor I love my job and I'm one and a half semesters (The rest of this spring plus next fall) away from applying to nursing school. Good Luck
  13. When I took my test there was one step in particular that I remeber not doing and it was a major one at least I think it was. Anyway I still passed both my tests the first time. Just dont freak out you'll be fine.
  14. Well I was lucky enough to get my first job in a hospital as my very first CNA job. But I do have a friend thats working in LTC right now and they oly been working in LTC for a couple of months and they're getting jobb interviews at the hospital so it is possible to get a job at a hospital with just a couple m onts expirience in LTC.
  15. Ok I have a possible problem. I am current finishing the prereqs for my ADN program and I'm not sure what I shoud do. The admission to the nursing program is based on a point system which mainly depends on what grades you get in A&P I and II and Microbiology. Right now I am taking A&P I and Im shooting for an A to get the highest amount of points. In the srping Im taking A&P II ,obviously, and I was planning on taking Microbiology in the summer. But the application deadline for admission in the nursing program in the fall is at the end of spring . And if I wait till after summer to apply for the nursing program I'll have to wait til spring 2012 to start! So to finally get to my question: Would it be to hard to take A&P II and Microbiology at the same time? Or should I just take them in seperate semesters and wait it out til spring for admission to the nursing program?
