how many accepted
Hey congrats! i got accepted as well, and start in the fall. I'm SOOO excited! I think i might take pathophysiology next summer ... but i would've had to take about 2-3 summer classes if i didn't have most of my pre-requs done. i've never taken summer classes before and i am a bit worried how they are going to fit a semesters worth of information into a couple of weeks. Good Luck everyone!!

nursing or pre-med.
I've studying to become a nurse and i am going to start clinicals next spring. But lately i have been wondering about going to med school. I'm 23 with 2 kids, i don't know if it's too late to switch to pre-med. Do any of you know someone who waited to begin a pre-med program? ... i feel so undecieded i just wanted to hear some different points of view before i make a decision. thanx.

Are private schools really easier to get into?
i'm going to transfer over to a private school from a public and they said 95% of the students there get federal aid and/or are on scholarships (academic or sports). It is pretty easy to get into, but it is a good program, i haven't heard one negative thing (besides the cost, $22,000 per year) from any of the nursing graduates. Also all but one credit doesn't transfer (micro), and one class that is not offered at the public school is all that i have left to take for general requirements. So private schools aren't all that bad, just do your homework before making a commitment.

And if you don't mind tell'n me.. wut did you get on your teas test... i got a 72, but i plan on retaking it this summer.

needs motivation and to vent
my motivation and excitement went down the tube after last semester... heres wut my skool does engl + a&p 1 + a&p 2 + psych a=30pts b=20pts c=10pts =120 teas............................................100 soo the 50 with total pts closest to 220 get in i bombed the teas last month so i have to take it again while going to school full time... my english teacher is very reluctant about giving a's (he's the english program chair-- big mistake taking his class) and it's my second time taking english b/c i got a b. so this is the only time i can retake it to count. i worked hard on my paper and got a 42/50!! nobody got an a on it.... grrrrrrr and we start a new project when we are close to finishing the previous project. i have to have an a.... [sigh] i taking a&p2.... i think every one knows how hard that class is. microbiology... i like it but this girl in my lab group thinks she knows everything b/c she took it last semester. and i'm writing two research papers!! two. i'm starting to wonder y i'm putting myself thru this, i work really hard and it seems like i'm getting nowhere... and will i ever get into the nursing program and if i'm having a hard time now can i even make it thru the nursing program... ne advice/tips... how does every one else manage everything... thanx for letting me vent

wut does my teas score mean???
thanx for the link! But I'm still confused, it says it refers to the portion of test takers from my specific type of nursing program whose scores are the same as or lower than your adjusted individual score. plz explain it to me. did i do good or bad??? should i retake it agian????

wut does my teas score mean???
a friend of mine took the teas as well and she score an 89% which she said is in the 98%, and her program rank was 7, she thinks that - that means 6 people scored better than her in our program at our school. i scored a 72%.. and my program rank is 38. this is what my paper says: Adjusted individual total score: 72% mean-national: 72.8 mean-program: 74% percentile rank-national: 43 percentile rank-program: 38 i'm sooo confused!!!! (hardly ne one in our school score better than 92% on the teas)

Didn't do well on TEAS: any tips/advice
i can't believe i did so bad on the teas.... i passed it... but not the score i wanted. it was the 3.0 version. so thankfull that i can retake it in 30 days. here is my take on the test: reading: pretty simple stuff. just like the ati study guide, and i had way more than enough time in this section. math: my weakest area. alot of fractions, some conversions, and i only remember it haveing 2 or 3 geometry question, some ratio and proportions, and a couple questions on finding the interest. science: really really random. on the chem, know iconic bonding, and get a basic understanding of the perodic take (they will provide the table in the test but know how many electons are in certain elements, one or two questions on that) . anatomy and phys questions were really simple... if you took a&p 101 you will do fine on those questions. english: a few spelling, but mostly grammar and punctuation. the study guide does a good job on this section as well. hope that helps!! does anyone know any good sites that i can brush up on life science or math? thanx

Please COMMENT ...IDK what to do
if LACC is not an accredited school then DON"T GO!! you won't be able to sit for the NCLEX, and those credits will not transfer to accredited universities or colleges. good luck... hope you get in other schools.

Anyone at all willing to give any input? Please
I don't know the situation that u r in.. but for me, going for my CNA before my RN is a waste of time and money (i 2 little ones and live with my parents, and i also pay for student loans).. At my school they let you apply for both LPN & RN at the same time ... if your school does the same, then that is what i would do if i were in your shoes. Good Luck!!!
