Wow I could not fathom having to take care of 13 patients on a shift.....

The only time I wear mine is when I am on a call. Other than that it hangs or sits with in reach.

I would say so long as you don't have an insane drive home in the morning nights is the way to go! Less headaches!

As cardiac states in missouri where I am it is an equal offense to harm and or assault a health care provider. I have personally watched a pt get tazed for trying to inflict bodily harm on my partner and I.... Its a big no no to come after anyone i work with or myself i just don't put up with it.

I always aspirate when i give an IM. Its what we were taught so I do it till they change it.

Go up slowly as you see changes in the pt status that would tell you they are in any sort of pain or discomfort as the affor mention posts.

In my honest opinion if you walked in and that was the very first impressions they implemented upon you all as students id find another program...

Thanks! I do work for a service that has critical care needs so that is a plus for me. Of corse I would in no way claim to have seen it all or know it all. I learn from each call I go on and try not to make the same oversites as when I was brand new. Thanks for the class ideas!

@rghbsn You said it pretty well. I am a paramedic currently working on the box still. I have have a lot of friends who work for the air service in my area. They fly Medic/RN here and it works wonderfully. Both are allowed to tube which in my opinion as well is a benefit! Two people who have the training and the knowledge of getting that tube is double the chance the patient outcome will be a successful one! My wife and I will be relocating soon and I am doing my best to get into the field. I can think of nothing else that will give me the satisfaction of knowing I am where I am suppose to be until I reach that goal. I was wondering as I am taking ccemtp this spring if there was anything else I should take as a medic? I currently will have 4 years ground experience as of this february. Thanks for any advice in advance and sorry if I misspelled anything lol spell check is a medics best friend!
