The Cleveland Clinic has done it (not for Doctor though) ...they closed up the McDonalds in the lobby too...guess I agree with the one poster who said ...wait til they check your BMI!

They avoid OT at my LTC as much as possible. If you pick up a open shift and a prn or part-timer picks it up you will be cancelled. You can't switch with someone if it results in OT. If you are in OT and census is low you go home first...Happy Holidays!

It is always fun to give out good natured gag awards...like most likely to end up with "god knows what" on their scrubs at the end of the shift, easiest handwriting to read,best paging voice etc...nothing harmful just fun. Alcohol helps too..

My LTC will buy our vacation for .50 on the dollar in lieu of taking our vacation time off next year. Is 1/2 a good deal for a buyout?

yes DNR-CC is comfort care A&Ox3 on admission,I assume he signed it.

My Resident at a LTC facility was hoorifice, had a cough and was very stiff and weak...just didn't look right...glanced at code status and called family (resident had a DNR-CC) ...Family stated they wanted to be aggresive and I obtained a order to send Resident out...the next day the daughter called ...resident had a stroke and they put a peg tube in he will be back in 3 days at the center and she just wondered "I am actually in Arizona at our timeshare right now ...do you think I should come home?" I stated that I could not make that decision for her...she then went on to add..."I just don't want to get penalized"..."by who?" "the airline".........um ok...100.00? Am I too extravagant to think this is not a really large sum...This is the family that continued to ask me to go in the room and tell him that he can't go home when he first was placed there. UGH
