  1. I tested at 2 pm on a monday, I did the trick at 5pm. It does work!
  2. Athens Regional just started a residency program and they accept ADN/ASN. My class graduated may 8 with approx 50 students. Almost all of us have been hired by one of the local hospitals, most before we took the NCLEX.
  3. I currently use a Timex indiglo. I have replace the band with kavu velcro band. When I need to wash it, I slide the watch off the band, and toss the band in the washer with my clothes.
  4. ******* for a&p all the way. Recommendations.....Study, study, and study some more. I was accepted for this fall with a 3.9 with 97 on the NLN. Dont worry, you can do it.
  5. I just got accepted to the ATC ADN program. The other poster is correct about the change from quarters to semesters. As far as how class will be arranged, it is still up in the air. I assume that we will find out in our mandatory info session in may. I can only assume that it will be a 4 semester setup. RA
  6. I am currently enrolled in a tech college and they encourage you to retake a class to get the grade that you need. I retook 3 classes last quarter to bring B's to A's. It is extremely competitive, so if you have to take it over and over, do so. I just got my acceptance letter yesterday( woot woot) there were 900 applicants and they took 50. Our school is merit based only. No interviews or essays.
  7. I just got my acceptance letter today and start in the fall. I am 33.
  8. I received my acceptance letter in the mail today!! I will enter the 2011 Nursing program. I want to say that the hard part is over, but I know that it is just beginning. So now, Textbooks, scrubs, stethoscope,.....So much to do!! To all of you that are still waiting, Im sending good vibes to ya!
  9. Ashley, Welcome! First, let me say that it is great that you already know what you want to do! So is it hard getting into nursing school? NO, but it is not easy either. First you have to decide if you are getting you ADN (associates) or BSN (Bachelors). Either way, find a school that offers one of the two and enroll. You will have prereqs and core classes to complete. My school's prereqs are A&P1 and 2, Med Microbiology, English 1101, Math 1101. Those are just the prereqs that are needed to submit a letter of intent for the nursing program. You will also have to complete an entrance exam for the program. Depending on where you are, you will have to take the NLN-PAX, the TEAS, or the HESI. The math needed is pretty basic--fractions, long division, ect... As far as you home schooling goes, I would bet that you will be better equipped for the program than others. The majority of home schooled students that I have met do very well grade wise in college. Now get online and look up a few schools and get to work.
  10. Here we go....My schools sends out acceptance letters on April 15. I feel sick every time I think about it. Every time I speak with a faculty member at my school I get a different answer as to what is considered competitive. I am currently running a 3.89 gpa and scored a 97%AD(148 composite) on the NLN. One person tells me that average is a 4.0 and a 99 on the NLN, the other tells me that I and border line competitive and another tells me that my scores are great........Aaaaaaagh! There are no interviews. All grade based. What do you guys think?
  11. I think I may be referring to the wrong score any way this is how it shows on my paper Composite: 143 DI:98 AD:97 ALL:98 Can anyone help translate this for me? Thanks
  12. Quanesha, I too am at Athens Tech, and am working toward entering the 2010 ADN program. Really, dont fret it to much. I am wraping up A&P 1 and math modeling. The math is not hard at all. Just entering alot of stuff into a calculator. The A&P is not a cake walk by any means but not impossible. Alot of memory work. Eps. the appendicular muscles. I can recommend some excellent instructors. Good Luck
